Elements such as coldness, sweetness, violence and tenderness are entangled and turned into a strange and poignant style. The elevator scene in the movie is simply a perfect combination of the above elements, which makes people hold their breaths, and God wins it.
Director Nicolas Winding Refn has extraordinary skills and audacity, and can take such a film that was accidentally reduced to a genre film to another level, allowing the film to break through the limitations of crime.
Drive, with a pun, means both driving and a compulsive state of mind. The male protagonist wears a scorpion's racing jersey from head to tail, which just highlights this pun. The film also brilliantly interprets these two meanings that are closely related in the film.
