I saw this movie a long time ago, but I don't remember the plot. I probably didn't understand it at the time. I watched it again this time and gained a lot of new insights.
The plot seems absurd, a weather announcer named Phil reluctantly does a special report on Groundhog Day, and ends up being stuck on that day, waking up every morning, it is Groundhog Day, which is His least favorite day. The name of the male protagonist in the film is the same as that of the groundhog, Phil, which is actually a pun, and the legend of Groundhog Day just expresses the core of the film: There is no way that this winter is ever going to end as long as this groundhog keeps seeing his shadow.
