metaphor

Cruel metaphor, when people are like desperate, their animal nature is exposed, and they can do anything. Pi's father is right on this point, when you look at the tiger's glasses, you can't see another soul, you can only see yourself, so in the end the tiger didn't look back at all and went straight into the forest. Pi compares the orangutan to a mother, and it's evident at the end and on the island, when Pi loses his human form and ends up eating Ma Ma. The movie is worth watching a second time

Life of Pi quotes

  • Adult Pi Patel: So which story do you prefer?

Writer: The one with the tiger. That's the better story.

Adult Pi Patel: Thank you. And so it goes with God.

Writer: [smiles] It's an amazing story.

  • Writer: [reading off the report] Mr. Patel's is an astounding story, courage and endurance unparalleled in the history of ship-wrecks. Very few castaways can claim to have survived so long, and none in the company of an adult Bengal tiger.
