The X-Files: I Want to Believe X-Files 2

Well, regarding X-Files 2, I am an XF fan (but not a diehard), and the file with my name is actually derived from the name of XF.

To be honest, the expectations are really high, but I am really disappointed. Although this movie is about crimes, not government conspiracies and aliens that I don’t like, I feel that in terms of the script, it’s obvious , The story is relatively monotonous and boring. The main line is the disappearance of FBI agents. There are two double lines, one is a child's brain surgery, and the other is the exchange of positions between the two.

However, if the main line is not handled properly, the role of the double line is reduced. Although it can be seen that they use the line of children's brain surgery to bring the metaphor of the final truth, but ha ha ha.

Chris Carter still has a big problem. The suspense and atmosphere are not well created. The excessive use of the omniscience perspective makes the suspense and fear disappear very early. Although the omniscience perspective has always been the tradition of XF TV dramas, it is clear from the 1993 TV dramas that everyone likes a single perspective, and the audience also enjoys this type of performance. It’s not impossible to use an omniscient perspective, but it can’t be too much. Seeing Se7en is appropriate for the benefit, without destroying the whole. If it weren't for Mulder and Scully, I might not have watched it at the beginning.

Walter Skinner only appeared at the end, and the role was so small. This kind of character is almost useless in the script. What is the screenwriter thinking? Come out early if you want to, and be a character who can promote the development of the story. Is it because of nostalgia to come out so late? Our bald grandfather is so pitiful.

It is worth mentioning, and the only thing worth mentioning is that the chase scene in which the female agent was pushed down was more exciting. But apart from this, as long as I can see XF continue to appear on the screen, I am still very happy. When I hear the opening music, I can’t help but boil. To be honest, I hope that XF will be able to produce 3, a perfect ending for this American drama enlightenment mentor who accompanied my youth.

Finally, it seems that I saw Black Oil? Is this a precursor to 3? I Want to Believe!

"High expectations, low returns, a common problem in Hollywood, 3/5 stars."

The X Files: I Want to Believe quotes

  • Dana Scully: Mulder. Can you hear me?

Fox Mulder: [drugged] Sorry about your car.

  • Fox Mulder: Scully? Why would he say that?

[he pauses then follows Scully to her car]

Fox Mulder: "Don't give up." Why would he say such a thing to you?

Dana Scully: I think that was clearly meant for you, Mulder.

Fox Mulder: He didn't say it to me. He said it to you.

    Dana Scully: Umm...

Fox Mulder: If Father Joe were the devil, why would he say the opposite of what the devil might say?

[she doesn't reply, though clearly attempting to rationalize]

Fox Mulder: Maybe that's the answer. You know, the larger answer.

Dana Scully: What do you mean?

    Fox Mulder: Don't give up.

Dana Scully: Please don't make this any harder than it already is.

    Fox Mulder: It's OK... OK.

Fox Mulder: [wrapping his arms around Scully, allowing her to rest her head on his chest] If you have any doubts, any doubts at all, just call off that surgery this morning. And then we'll get out of here.

[he loosens his embrace enough to look into her eyes]

Fox Mulder: Just me and you.

Dana Scully: As far away from the darkness as we can get?

Fox Mulder: I'm not sure it works that way. I think maybe the darkness finds you, and me.

Dana Scully: [as a tear rolls down her cheek] I know it does.

Fox Mulder: But let it try.

[they embrace again, this time pulling together in a long, passionate kiss]
