In this regard, World War Z stands out among the many flesh-and-blood zombie films. When facing zombies, human beings finally remember to use their only proud brains. What are zombies? is a disease. How to fight disease? Find an antidote. In my opinion, this is the right way, not the blindly killing and fleeing like in other zombie movies, hit&run.
The film highlights two key organizations in the face of human disease: government and scientific research institutions (whether the film itself performs well or not). The government can gather troops to fight disease, build safe islands, and most importantly, stabilize the hearts of the people. Under the guarantee of the government, scientific research institutions can play the greatest role and concentrate on researching the antidote. Once the antidote is successfully researched, the government is responsible for organizing the distribution, and finally the epidemic can be gradually controlled.
Having praised so much, there are also places where I want to complain. All kinds of unscientific things that are common to everyone are not listed, just talk about the BSL-3 or 4 laboratory in this WHO (there is smallpox, so it is at least level 3). Is it enough to put so many deadly pathogens in a low temperature room with an electronic lock? And researchers don't even wear protective clothing, so it's no wonder that they accidentally get infected with zombie viruses. Not to mention the decompression process when entering the storage room. In addition, the security personnel didn't know where they were going, otherwise they would definitely be able to help, at least not let a researcher be a hindrance.
But overall, this movie is more to my liking, and it does what I want to see in a zombie movie.
