As an audiovisual art, the charm of film lies in "presenting"

• Some films have narration, such as domestic commercial films (usually high-box and bad films, especially nostalgic ones), for fear that the audience will not understand, explain the background and location of the characters clearly. Use the camera lens and character language to let the audience understand these, especially the lines, and the most important thing is to make the audience think; some movies need to think hard on their own, the jump is very large, and understanding requires certain knowledge bases, which is very difficult. It's in the category of brain-burning films, but it's very enjoyable.
Watching a Space Odyssey without any foreshadowing, you will only feel that you are not aware of it. It is because others and many people say it is amazing, not because you think it is amazing. Lan's "Interstellar", as well as "Interstellar Contact" worth mentioning, can be used as auxiliary foreshadowing. Believe me, it is definitely worthwhile to do these foreshadowings, and will allow you to experience an extraordinary viewing process.
Space, Earth, ring-shaped spacecraft, weightlessness, centrifugal manufacturing of gravity, footage that travels through the entire spacecraft, details of outer space, outside of the spacecraft, details of the moon base, details of the interior of the spacecraft, Niubi! Kubrick really made a great sci-fi film with a professional attitude, or completely expressed the hard sci-fi of Clark's original book from another angle.
The third paragraph of this spacecraft really shocked me. The novel only roughly describes the shape of the spacecraft. Kubrick needs to do more work, which is basically similar to the blueprint of NASA's design of the spacecraft. It has a very cool feeling. Interstellar is original, and it makes up for the regret of previous technical reasons. Space Odyssey is taken from a great science fiction novel. Kubrick perfectly presents the charm of art such as movies.
Entering a higher dimension, or entering an advanced civilization, can only be imagined. Clark imagined it in words. He shocked readers in the theory of space and time he established. This is the charm of hard science fiction; Kubrick used pictures I imagined the level of the film industry in the 1960s. Most people can guess. The director is limited by technical reasons, and may not be able to fully present all the details, but perhaps the director at that time was only the best by Kubrick. I understand that when we are in contact with advanced civilization, what are we thinking about? I want to plant flowers without asking the flower watchers.
The prejudice against Kubrick is gone. Although I don't think his other works are good, just a Space Odyssey is enough to prove his greatness in my heart. The movie lasted for two and a half hours, and I enjoyed watching it very much. An extraordinary film, as an audiovisual art, the charm of film lies in "presentation".

I don't believe that Kubrick is an earthling.

This film has three characteristics: 1) Can’t understand 2) Countless symbols 3) Must read Nietzsche well 4) It’s really earth-shattering to be able to make such special effects in the 1960s.

2001: A Space Odyssey quotes

  • HAL: Just what do you think you're doing, Dave?

  • HAL: [1:50:56]

[on Dave's return to the ship, after he has killed the rest of the crew]

HAL: Look Dave, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over.
