It's really hard to understand

It is no exaggeration to say that this film is really difficult to understand, especially after seeing Colonel Kurtz, I can only understand one image and what the director is about to express, and it is a bit difficult to fully understand it. The film unfolds and gradually ends in Morrison's "The End". The first 1/3 shows the bloody and cruelty of the war through almost line drawing. Every soldier used to be an ordinary person with a dream, and finally he became an ordinary person with a dream. Nervous maniac. Those tension and frenzy, the slaughter at the touch of a button, and the aimless shooting, make people feel deeply desperate and sad. 1/2 after the movie, when the team entered the Mekong River at night, the light, shadow and sound effects made people feel like hell. After the soldiers took hallucinogens, they became more impulsive, mad, fearful and irrational, and the battle always started suddenly and again. It ended abruptly, the soldier was dead, and the broadcast of the family letter continued. In the stream of consciousness plot, we see a war without blood, justice, unity of action, and officers, just noise, thick smoke, scorched earth, jungles, pontoons, bewildered warriors and enemies, and meaningless on both sides of death. In the end, they finally found Colonel Kurtz's foothold. He seemed to live in a different dimension. He did not belong to this world. There were many corpses, many believers, different identities, soldiers, women and children, and everyone was covered in blood. Mud, the crowd was mixed, and the thoughts were messy. It was in this scene that Captain Willard saw Colonel Kurtz. The Colonel was hidden in the light and shadow, looming, and he said incomprehensible words, "The breath of death is gradually approaching, Malaria, nightmares, this is the end of the river." Capt. Willard was ravaged in captivity, and on the brink of death in a haze of light, he realized what the Colonel's heart was saying. The colonel was tired of such a life, too. Against the backdrop of the carnival slaughter of believers outdoors, the captain killed the colonel. When the captain with his face covered in paint and blood stained appeared on the head of the believers, people worshipped him again. So what people really fear is not the Colonel himself, but the faith itself. In this hellish world, they need supernatural or surreal spiritual sustenance to keep them alive. The captain still left this bizarre world. The colonel's original intention was to let him call an air strike to raze this place to the ground and completely destroy the monster. The captain hesitated for a moment and turned off the radio, leaving behind this fog and the same confused people. This film has no plot, it is extremely dull, a little depressing, and there are no brutal scenes, but the purpose of this anti-war film has been achieved. After watching it, it will really make people hate war, feel uncomfortable and disgusting. For anti-war themes , absolutely qualified, just too verbose.

Double overlapping montage, the psychedelic Valkyrie of Rolling Stone. Fireworks and fireworks incendiary bombs, a ray of light in the darkness. Human nature has no good or evil, cruel and magnificent for a moment. Xanadu lives in this place, desperate to exile. Both audio-visual and Coppola, both commercial and artistic achievements.

It’s too long, I haven’t insisted on it a few times until I finished reading it.

  • Willard: Hey soldier, do you know who's in command here?

    Soldier: Ain't you?
