At that time, I watched "Saint Seiya" together with "Dragon Ball". To be honest, Masami Chada is far inferior to Akira Toriyama in the ability to make up stories, but he always does well in one thing, that is how to create a man, among which The most important point is that you have to sacrifice, only death has power.
There is a line in the film that is repeated over and over, of course because the time is constantly being reset. The line was said by the sergeant, to the effect that it is normal to be afraid, and only when you are afraid can you have courage. In other words, you have fear because of death, and sacrifice makes sense because of fear.
Tom was a coward in the beginning, trying to escape the war. I think many people feel the same way, such as a coward like me. Then he went to battle, and then he died and was forged as a warrior. Sorry he's not really a fighter, at best a bad wargame player. Because Ya's memory is continuous, it's like walking on Naihe Bridge repeatedly is a guy who doesn't drink Meng Po soup. For him, death is not terrible, so there is nothing about courage and sacrifice.
In contrast, the heroine is a real warrior because her death is really death. Although time is constantly resetting, death is real because there is no memory. It's like there are many parallel planes, and every time she resets, she dies in one plane. She is not what she once was when Brother Tom met again. Yesterday is not today.
So at the last moment of the movie, the director must make Tom lose the ability to reset time, so that he has only one chance to face the unknown future. If you can try again and again, the whole story is too frustrating. So although, the most logical situation should be that the hero and heroine are fully prepared to die every time, how can they lose such an important ability due to mistakes? Ultimately pinning the outcome on an unforeseen opportunity? This is joking about the future of mankind, and it is so irresponsible.
But there is really no way, in order to let the audience feel the hero's determination to face death, the power of sacrifice, love and courage, for the audience, Tom must lose the ability to resurrect, it is necessary. It was only in the last mission that Tom's role was truly transformed into a warrior. This movie seems to have feelings. Before that, our biggest feeling was actually just curious.
Of course, the final ending is quite bloody, time is reset again, and another parallel space is opened. Could it be that alien creatures were moved by the love and courage of the hero and heroine? Or, the logic needs someone who knows the whole story, if everyone died, how would we know what happened?
Of course, one of the most important reasons is that the audience needs a happy ending. For the audience, Tommy must be resurrected! At the end of the film, facing the ignorant heroine, Tom made a signature smile, revealing a small white tooth. This scene is much like the end of the Korean movie "Untouchable Lovers". Lee Jung Jae faced Jun Ji Hyun with a puzzled face and said with a smile: Can I tell you a bizarre story?
