I read it yesterday, and I feel okay so far. It's all about love, and it doesn't resonate much. Take a few good lines. Ted Mosby: Here's the thing about mistakes. Sometimes even when you know something's a mistake, you gotta make it, anyway. Even really, really dumb mistakes. Lily: I know it's a mistake. But there are certain things in life where you know it's a mistake, but you don't really know it's a mistake, because the only way to really know it's a mistake is to make the mistake, and look back and say, "Yep, that was a mistake". So, really, the bigger mistake would be to not make the mistake because then you'd go your whole life not really knowing if something is a mistake or not. And, damn it, I've made no mistakes!
But life has plenty of good parts. It's the rough parts that make you thankful you have people to share it with.
Barney: Ted, your problem is all you do is think, think, think. I'm teaching you how to do, do, do.
Ted: And that was when I realized why I hung out with Barney. I never got where I thought I wanted to go, but I always got a great story. So that's the upside of hurt. Sometimes it happens for a reason.
Because all of the stuff you're supposed to like, usually sucks.
