The 5th screening day of the main competition unit of the 6th #Faro IslandFilm Festival# brings you "Arrival", and the following will bring you a sci-fi evaluation of the frontline prophets!
Pincent:
Knowing that the ending still has to move forward, the temperament and atmosphere are charming, and the high-concept plot wraps the core of warmth. Villeneuve gives this very routine theme more poetry.
swipe:
Villeneuve is really a master of rhythm, once again sigh! The text is round, the spaceship has no edges and corners, and the name of hannah is also round. In fact, all this has long been a harbinger of how much the aliens are.
Tony Xue:
I have read the adapted novel, but it has been a long time, and I only remember some general plots, about the communication between aliens and human beings and an old-fashioned topic. After seeing through my life, will I still accept and change the topic. But the connection between the two in the film is a bit blunt? The first half is a serious sci-fi film, constructing a more convincing story of communicating with aliens through language. But in the second half, when AA began to clearly realize that she could see through her future life, the focus of the movie became lyrical, and it was not a new topic. The whole advent became a part of her life, and it was not No (what I'm talking about) In short, the atmosphere created by the film is great, and the temperament of a literary film is not a fantasy sci-fi, and it has the support of certain professional knowledge.
Troubled day and night:
The story is born out of words, but conveys an emotional experience far beyond words through images. The atmospheric and poetic sense of high-level comes to the face, and there is a philosophical discussion on fate and the future, and finally has the power to see the small through the big. The jury award or the movie queen can be rushed.
Freshwater River:
After reading it, I deliberately looked at the original book. In fact, the original book has very little content, so I had to add some things at the back. The atmosphere and artistic conception were created absolutely, and the emotional collision of communication with unknown alien creatures was expressed. That's great, scheduling, long shots, camera structure, these elements that Villeneuve is good at are more perfect than Border Slayer! Although it is a sci-fi film, it essentially talks about the emotions, communication and content of life between species.
Ann Ann and:
It turns out that all the events were unfolded in front of our eyes at one time. The moment we stand on one side and feel the joy, we have already tasted all the sorrow on the other side. The moment we meet a person, we are already destined to be with him. The love that happened, we already knew about the untimely death of our offspring and the departure of our lover before we had completed the fertilization of the fruit, we have already been overdrawn at this moment when we have just resolved a major crisis for mankind The cruel truth of life. Just like the moment each of us is born, the fate of your death has been written on a piece of paper you can't see. Just like the name of the original novel of "Arrival", it is "Story of Your Life". Perhaps our existence itself is to use the most exciting, fun and vigorous way to successfully complete a tragedy.
fire_storm:
Villeneuve's little experimentation made this a good suffocating movie. Villeneuve's scheduling is excellent, the long panning mirror when the shell first appears, the inverted perspective of the first entering the shell, etc. What a shocking design! The first half of the film perfectly reproduces the essence of the original work, and the original plot of the second half not only provides a reasonable and simple explanation for this linguistic story, but also elevates the style of the film to one of the best sci-fi movies.
Xiaofeng and your waning moon:
Velen's narrative technique is as excellent as ever, and it feels like watching a scorched earth city. In the end, when the two time and space come together, it is still as amazing as ever. Combined with the always-excellent soundtrack and cinematography, this makes for a bland but wonderful arrival. (I read it again, the editing and narration are really awesome, from now on I will only worship Weishen).
Her Majesty:
Venice is special for Hollywood sci-fi. Since you can't imagine a different image of aliens from the past, just don't show your face. Is it true that directors of these types of films can only be attractive enough by testing on the edge of Hollywood's style. The rhythm has been good from the beginning, the discussion of language is free from philosophy, art and psychology, physiology. Amy's double-movie film in Venice was not nominated for an Oscar.
Faroe Islander:
Lady Amy Adams deserves an Oscar.
Quit the smoke:
"Where did we come from? Who are we? Where are we going?" After watching the film, the name of Gauguin's painting immediately popped into my mind. what the story wants us to think about.
A lot of professional knowledge is involved in the original work, but the adaptation of this film downplays this content and focuses on the perception of life, which makes this film more accessible.
The video style of the film is also quite amazing. Under the direction of Dennis Villeneuve, the overall style of the picture is gloomy and gloomy, but it also reveals light. The non-linear timeline is edited just right, and the sound effects that match the scene are like magic. The soundtrack takes the film to a new level.
Amy Adams' performance is really amazing. This performance, which was expelled from the Oscar nomination, can completely go to the back. The delicate emotional performance and the interspersed tension performance are impressive. You will regret going to the Oscar for a hundred years. Bar!
However, the most attractive thing is the deep connotation of the film: every life path is actually full of fog, everyone is groping and staggering forward, but when you know everything that will happen in the future, are you still willing to go? The collision of linearity and non-linearity keeps us from changing the future, and when you have one more ability than others, the pain you endure comes with it. If life is like the corridor where the heroine steps in at the beginning and the palindrome name of the heroine's daughter, can you see through it, will every decision you make make you feel that your life was worthwhile when you look back at the end?
In the cycle of millions of years, we move forward little by little, chewing all the sadness, but still smiling and continuing to walk...
Snow-Nashville:
Arrival is different from the crappy alien invasion-themed films that are rampant at the moment. It despises these films and explores its own emotions and language. Amy Adams brought Louise Banks to life with body language and eclipsed Jeremy Renner's Lan Donnelly. Louise is the most exciting element of the film: a woman who uses her intellectual skills to change the world in unprecedented ways, and it all comes down to language.
(So Ms. Amy Adams, the linguist, lost Otti because of those few Chinese sentences?)
#FIFF6#DAY5's main competition unit field journal scores will be released on the broadcast later, please wait and see.
