Probably, an old woman's son died of cancer. While the old woman and her husband were in grief, they began to hate God and the world, and then used the kidnapping and killing of other families' children to declare war on God. As for the family of the kidnapped child, when the search for the child was unsuccessful, the father began to take a slant, imprisoned a suspect with private force, and used violent and bloody means to extract a confession, but in the end he only hurt an innocent and pitiful kidnapped child. In the end, the father was also locked in the cave by the old woman as his temporary cage. This film is permeated with religion, the police believe in religion, the father believes in religion, and the old woman once believed in religion, but in the end, except for the police, everyone else deviates from their beliefs. The old woman is an apostate, and she is an enemy of the religion; the father is tangled and helpless, and desperately disobeys in pain. A firm belief comes from a clear understanding of the world. The old woman believes in religion, but she may not know much about the world, and she doesn't know that the pain in the world is so deep, that it is so different from her imagination that she becomes a gangster under the oppression of darkness; and her father also becomes Satan's Follow. The world is chaotic, good and evil alternate, people will not know, one second is a pious good deed, the next second will become a ferocious evil spirit. It is the world that makes people become angels, and it is the world that makes people become demons. So why should they believe in God?

Prisoners quotes

  • Keller Dover: Don't talk to them.

Ralph Dover: [Looks up at Keller, confused and distraught] Eliza told me they're dead... Is it true?

    Keller Dover: No.

Ralph Dover: Well, she said... they found... their bloody clothes...

Keller Dover: Don't you tell your mother that. Don't you *dare* tell your mother that. Do you understand me? Now, I need you to listen to me...

    [whispering harshly]

Keller Dover: I need you to stay and run the house for a couple of days; and you make sure she does not watch the news and when the paper comes, you just throw it the fuck away! Listen to me... We do *not* give up on your sister. We do *not*!

    [pauses, while trembling]

Keller Dover: I'm gonna find her... I'm gonna bring her home. We do not give up.

Ralph Dover: You're gonna bring her *home*? She's *dead*, *you* can't do anything, you've been leaving me and mom here while you've been going out and getting *fucking drunk*! You think I can't smell it on you?

Keller Dover: [Keller grabs Ralph's shoulders, whips him around, and pins him against the wall in a fury] *SHUT UP*!

  • Keller Dover: He's not a person anymore.
