In fact, it should be more than three stars, but I don't think it deserves four stars... I watched this movie for a long time, maybe almost a month (downloaded it during the summer vacation, and haven't finished watching it) I just watched it two days ago. Why it can be delayed so much, because the rhythm of this movie is also very slow, and I am very procrastinating... As a suspense film, the appearance of suspense points and the solution of the mystery are the driving force and progress mark of the film's story. But here, there are no new suspense points for more than an hour before the movie, and I honestly look boring. The new suspense points and plot twists basically occurred in the second half, or even more than half an hour later. This is one of the reasons why I haven't finished watching this movie before, because it was boring... The background of the story is very classic and old-fashioned: a small town unsolved case, a police detective case. To be honest, this is also seen a lot, which is the second reason why I have not read it...
The above is also why I don't want to give four stars but I have to praise the actors for their acting skills, the conflict between Lao Ji and Uncle Lang, Uncle Lang's feelings and impulses as a father, especially the part of identifying the photo, it's simple. One thing that I find very interesting is the attitude of the characters towards God: Uncle Wolf, as a new abuser, while imprisoning others and using lynching, prays to God for forgiveness, and does not know if God has heard it? As the first prisoner, the old woman used the method of imprisoning others to express her dissatisfaction with God and it has continued to this day. It can be seen that God has been unheard of.
Another thing that makes me stunned is the perfect fusion of the title and the story. The title of the film is PRISONER, which translates to prisoner in Chinese, which is a literal translation, and the film runs through the entire film from two little girls, fake Alex, real Alex, to Uncle Wolf, one prisoner after another. From the beginning of the film, the audience will think: Oh, the two little girls are "prisoners". Immediately afterwards, Fake Alex was imprisoned by Uncle Wolf and became a new prisoner. Then, the real Alex appears, deciphering his former prisoner status. In the end, Uncle Wolf was imprisoned by the old woman and became a new prisoner. Perhaps the most ironic of them all is that those who imprison people become prisoners in the end.
But there are still many places that I don't quite understand: I don't understand the snake and the maze, is it some kind of metaphor? The old woman's motives are too confusing? What's the real Alex's motive? Why can't you say it?
I also like the ending of the film, I tend to think that Lao Ji will find the imprisoned Uncle Wolf.
