Perhaps, many people in the cinema have such emotions.
Go in, excited;
come out, depressed.
Maybe race, country, ethnicity doesn't matter at all. What is important is respect for people and respect for life. Whether you are black or white; whether you are European or Asian; whether you are Iraq or Afghanistan. We all need respect. Life is sacred that no one can take away.
Writing this, I thought of "Nanjing, Nanjing". Either China or Japan. Both need respect. In such films, there are always heroes who play rebellious roles, who lead us to think and lead us to examine ourselves.
Less selfishness, more respect. Even without District 9.
