It's not aliens that are really disgusting, it's us humans

They are a group of alien refugees, they are scrawny and ragged, they are ugly, they are between grasshoppers and lobsters, they are discriminated as "prawns", they love to eat cat food, they live in South Africa, called the first In the filthy and sinful slums of District Nine, they are hated, driven and killed by humans.

You may be wondering, is this an alien? Didn't they come to invade Earth and blow up the White House (see "War of the Worlds", "Shenzhen: Earth Strikes Back"...)? Aren't they cute little aliens (see "ET")? Aren't they messengers of friendship to deliver a message of peace (cf. Contacts of the Third Kind)?

Director Neil Blomkamp tells us about such an alternative sci-fi movie that is beyond our viewing experience.

As we all know, human beings have never stopped pursuing the pace of life in outer space. But have we thought about it, when the outer space life really visits the earth, are we ready to accept them? After watching "District 9", I came to the conclusion that as long as the human demons - discrimination and prejudice still exist, we will never be ready for contact with alien life!

"No non-humans."
"They're hard to communicate."
"They're very low-IQ and tough."
"We have to be careful when we talk to them."
"Aha, look at this, it's funny (from an alien) He pulled out a glass bottle, and the alien howled in pain), do you want to take it back as a souvenir?"
"Go back, you rotten shrimps!"

These lines reminded me easily: "Chinese and dogs are not allowed to enter", "Yellow Peril", "Sick Man of East Asia", "Nigger", "Black Cubs"...

Where is this alien movie? topic. Honestly, very uncomfortable. At first I thought aliens were disgusting, but after reading it, I realized that the real disgusting thing was us humans.

Stripped of the skin, all living things are the same living beings. ——We can develop nuclear weapons that reach the sky, we can send humans to the moon, we have profound scientific knowledge and rich imagination, but why can’t we understand such a simple truth?

We think the aliens in the movie are ugly and stupid, but. People can find us and come to Earth, but we can only reach Mars at most, and we can’t even get out of the solar system; people’s spaceships have been hovering in Johannesburg for 30 years, but we can’t find a way to start them, and the aliens We drove it away with the substance we extracted, and we didn't know what it was. Aliens probably don't know that frogs in the well and arrogance are also "virtues" of human beings.

R16. The style and shooting techniques of this film are different from previous works by Peters Jackson. Although part of the plot is still very old-fashioned Hollywood style (such as the consistent incompleteness of human nature, the alienation of the protagonist and the contrast of fate), this film abandons the usual pattern, and both the plot and the ending contain profound meanings. Worth a look.

The motif is still the routine of superheroes to save the world, but it is novel because of the reverse. The first half is full of curiosity, the shaking camera interspersed with the interview flash monitoring to create a pseudo-documentary effect, and the second half leads the audience to express pity on the ugly alien, lamenting the hero's tragic life and full of tragic colors. Unlike the routines of previous science fiction films, it is set in the conflict refugee zone, and there are more reversal plots, always fearful and successful.
