A Muggle graduation journey back to school

In 2020, I watched the re-screening of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" in the cinema. I remembered the scene of reading the novel "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" in 2001, as if I was standing at the gate of the campus after many years of graduation. , I remembered the scene of walking into the school gate with a schoolbag on my back. During the winter vacation of 2001, my sister who came back from my classmate's house gave me three books and told me that this book was very beautiful. I saw a boy on the cover, wearing round-rimmed glasses, riding a broom, scratching a golden winged small ball. After opening the book, follow Dumbledore to meet the boy who survived, and then follow the boy into the world of magic. Although I knew from an early age that wizards and magic are often set in Western literature, it was only a vague and fragmentary impression. Such a detailed and systematic description of this novel is the first time. The book describes Harry's surprise when he saw the wizarding world for the first time, which is exactly the same as my expression when I read it. I remember that winter vacation, I read the three books back and forth several times, but every time I was still infected by the description of the novel. In the summer vacation of the second year, I read the fourth "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" again, which brought a happy ending to my elementary school years.

Because I like Harry Potter, I became good friends with a classmate in my class after I entered junior high school. Every time he bought the new Harry Potter, he would share it with me. At that time, we were determined to grow up to be like Rowling, write equally powerful novels, and even tried to write them. Later, because of our limited skills, we stopped writing them at the beginning. We decided to wait until we grew up and improved before writing. Even if we couldn’t write it ourselves, someone in China would definitely be able to write it when we grew up. As a result, up to now, China has not appeared a best-selling novel that swept the world like Harry Potter, but a bunch of immortal writing with fixed routines.

After reading "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" in the winter of my second year of high school, I began to wait a long time for the publication of the finale. During this period, I often went to the bookstore to see if the finale was on the shelves. I didn't wait for the finale, and I saw a bunch of fakes of all kinds. The book was getting more and more wrong at the time, and it was later determined that it was a copycat. Later, when I was preparing for the college entrance examination, I buried this waiting in my heart. After the college entrance examination, I read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows heartily. From the first to the seventh part, it happened to accompany me on my growth journey from child to adult.

Because I love the original book too much, I always worry that the movie version will not achieve the expected effect, so I never watch the movie version. Fortunately, the 3D re-screening version did not disappoint me. The 3D effect of the Quidditch match was really enjoyable to watch. I could match every scene in the movie with the novel, and see those familiar people again, such as Ron. , Hermione, Dumbledore, Snape, Hagrid, see the familiar Diagon Alley, Nine and Three-quarters Station again, it's like going back to school after graduation to chat with teachers and walk around the classroom where time is left behind , dormitory, playground.

When I have a child in the future, I will definitely accompany him to read this series of novels, not for other reasons, what if he is not a Muggle?

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone quotes

  • Ron: [Harry and Ron arrive late to Transfiguration, relieved that Professor McGonagall isn't there yet] Whew, made it. Can you imagine the look on old McGonagall's face if we were late?

[the cat sitting at the head of the class suddenly transforms into her]

    Ron: That was bloody brilliant!

Professor McGonagall: Well, thank you for that assessment, Mr Weasley. Perhaps it would be more useful if I were to transfigure Mr Potter and yourself into a pocket watch? That way, one of you might be on time.

    Harry: We got lost.

Professor McGonagall: Then perhaps a map? I trust you don't need one to find your seats.

  • Ron: What do they think they're doing, keeping a thing like that locked up in a school?

Hermione: You don't use your eyes, do you? Didn't you see what it was standing on?

Ron: I wasn't looking at its feet! I was a bit preoccupied with its heads... or maybe you didn't notice? There were three!
