The second film I watched in the re-screening, the first time I watched it was in elementary and junior high school. It was definitely a five-star movie in my heart at that time. Revisiting it after many years, I want to experience the feeling of full sensory openness back then, but my heart is no longer disturbed.

The construction of the entire magical world is still amazing today, and I have to admire JK Rowling's imagination.

Hogwarts is still my dream school.

However, there are too many bugs in the plot logic of the film. The first-year students used the simplest magic to defeat the monster that the college professors were afraid of. With a few basic blabla spells, they passed five levels and six generals. It was really a kind of last week. I just picked up my pen and started learning calligraphy, and I will enter the palace next week. (There are many, many similar, throughout the whole film)

Children's movies may not need to be serious, but I think since it has been so successful in building an epic magical world, the plot and details have to be worthy of it. I really can't accept the use of mother's love to defeat monsters. The truth, the good and the beautiful are too steep and far-fetched, and some Disney children's cartoons have not come so exaggerated (I feel that the previous preparations have not been too rigorous)

The performance of the three children was really embarrassing. The ordinary movements were fine. Once the key emotional "burst point" was reached, I really couldn't see what they wanted to express. After all, he is still a child, with no professional training and no experience, but it makes people anxious to see it. Personally, I think the acting skills of the three leading children are not as good as those of Malfoy and Fatty (maybe the latter two have too few roles, and it is not the reason for the round characters?) Hermione is the most embarrassing. There are some reasons for the characters, but Too much. The lines of the three leading actors also made me embarrassed to hear them. The English pronunciation is nice, but the three really have the feeling of "primary students recite the whole text with emotion". The cadence is there, but it sounds uncomfortable. The movie is still a good movie, I just think it deserves better plot acting and details.

Plus, the soundtrack is a big plus.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone quotes

  • Ron: [Harry and Ron arrive late to Transfiguration, relieved that Professor McGonagall isn't there yet] Whew, made it. Can you imagine the look on old McGonagall's face if we were late?

[the cat sitting at the head of the class suddenly transforms into her]

    Ron: That was bloody brilliant!

Professor McGonagall: Well, thank you for that assessment, Mr Weasley. Perhaps it would be more useful if I were to transfigure Mr Potter and yourself into a pocket watch? That way, one of you might be on time.

    Harry: We got lost.

Professor McGonagall: Then perhaps a map? I trust you don't need one to find your seats.

  • Ron: What do they think they're doing, keeping a thing like that locked up in a school?

Hermione: You don't use your eyes, do you? Didn't you see what it was standing on?

Ron: I wasn't looking at its feet! I was a bit preoccupied with its heads... or maybe you didn't notice? There were three!
