The Beatles Forever

I appreciate the director’s idea: Use Beatles’ music to tell the story of a group of protagonists named after Beatles songs such as Jude, Lucy and Max in the 1960s. Whether you think it’s a musical or a movie version of MTV, the film’s personalized, visual and plot interpretation of more than 30 Beatles’ famous songs will bring fans a familiar and fresh viewing experience. Experience. Especially the cover of Bono in the film is very brilliant.

There are many good rock music, some are bloody, some are disheartening, some are relaxing and some are heartbreaking. And from the music of the Beatles, we can often inadvertently feel a kind of childlike innocence and optimism against reality and mediocrity. Perhaps this is why we love the Beatles so much.

Across the Universe quotes

  • Jude: What is that place?

Prankster: The headquarters of the league of spiritual deliverance!

Dr. Robert: The home of Dr. Gary, another outlaw, like myself. We're navigators, we're aviators, we're eatin' tators, masturbatin' alligators, bombardiers, we got no fears, we don't shed no tears, we're pushin' the frontiers... of transcendental perception. What's weird is, we haven't met yet, on this or any other plane.

Prankster: Hey doc, he says he won't see you, man.

Dr. Robert: Why, is he sick?

Prankster: He just said he's busy.

Dr. Robert: Did you tell that

    [sniff]

Dr. Robert: sonofabitch that we drove 3,000 miles to see him? Alright, everybody back on the bus. We're going home, to California.

Max: Doc, California isn't home to all of us.

Dr. Robert: What can I say? You're either on the bus, or off the bus.

  • Mr. Kite: It's me!

    [music blast]

    Mr. Kite: In the thing!
