Dark Rain
2019, Los Angeles.
The streets were full of people, with the demeanor of living alone. Dim weather, wet streets, lonely crowds. Only the huge billboards on the street corners reveal the allure of glamour, and Japanese singers sing monotonous words. This is the description of the future world in the beginning of "Blade Runner". At that time, the earth had been destroyed, and greedy human beings turned their attention to alien planets. With the advancement of technology, robot production has developed to the chain stage. The androids are identical to human beings and are used for slave labor in the outer world. After the bloody riot of the external colony's No. 6 battle group, the replicators were declared illegal and must be executed.
The Secret Service team of Blade Runners was ordered to detect and kill any invading replicants. That's not called execution, it's called retirement. Rick Deckard is one of the Blade Runners, ordered to track down the five androids. He was supposed to be an indestructible hero, but Rick always looked gloomy, with large and small photo frames on the piano, which seemed to carry heavy memories.
Memory
Each Duplicant's memory is implanted. The kind of secrets and small incidents that seemed to belong only to him, but they were told by others, shocking like a rock. Thus, emptiness spreads. If the past does not exist, how can the future continue? who I am? where am i from? How long do I have to live? The most commonplace philosophical question has become the greatest perplexity for androids. However, who does not quietly ask himself in the dead of night, who am I and where do I come from. At this point, we who think are no more different from androids.
The photos in the film become the carrier of the memory. Frame after frame of photos, with a false past, build real feelings. An android carries the attributes and memories of a certain human being, but develops a true self. They dare to love, dare to hate, their lives are short, like a drop in the ocean, their lives are fragile and vulnerable to a single blow. However, they are so nostalgic for life and nostalgia for love. At the moment when the two female androids were shot to death, the body that was struggling with life was reluctant to leave, beautiful, but hopeless. Everything slowed down, slowed down, and the whole world seemed to stand still at that moment.
The cloudy rain that fell from the sky seemed to have turned into silver snow.
The nostalgia
for life and the desire for life are the strongest emotions developed by the androids, and it is also the reason for their riots. Instilled feelings, but only given a short life of four years. Engaged in the humblest slave work, but also felt the beauty of life.
Roy Batty is the elite of the sixth generation, he is agile, intelligent, emotional, and slightly neurotic. But the fire of his thirst for life was quenched by his maker. In desperation, he destroyed his "God". The action at the moment of killing, bloody, brutal. However, the expression on his face was by no means a vicious gangster, it was a mixture of nostalgia and despair. It seems that what he has destroyed is his desire for life. And then, we must meet the fate of death.
The sluggishness and loneliness of human beings
seem to be in contrast to artificial humans. The humans in the film are all sluggish and sluggish. The whole world is slowing down, only the agility and wisdom of the android become a bright point, but it is destined to disappear in the long river of the universe.
Similarly, every human in the film looks so lonely, they live alone in a big empty house, and raindrops fall from the eaves and go straight to the bottom of their hearts, causing countless ripples of loneliness. No amount of ramen, no amount of wine can warm their hearts. However, artificial humans are different. They long for and have love, they are dependent on their partners, and they only long for the number of life years that normal humans can have. However, they were simply executed faster.
After Pris died, Roy held her body up to the sky and screamed in grief and despair. He smeared his lover's blood on his lips and vowed to fight against humans.
burst of humanity
Just as Roy and Blade Runner Rick Deckard had a decisive battle on the roof, he reached out with agility and strength, repeatedly driving Blade Runner to a dead end. However, just as Rick was about to fall off the top of the building, he reached out and pulled him up. The hand he used had just inserted an iron nail, resisting the helplessness of the disappearance of life with pain.
He held a white dove in his hand, and his face was as handsome and pure as a Greek sculpture. He murmured, "I've seen things you humans can't believe. I've seen warships set on fire at the edge of the constellation Orion, and the sea is ablaze with beautiful sparks. However, all of this will happen in an instant. Gone without a shadow, like tears in raindrops. The hour of death has come at last." The
beautiful head hung down, silver hair gleaming in the moonlight. Nirvana is eternally silent, and the white dove leaps up, like a soul flying out of an imprisoned body. At that moment, it was so beautiful, like the blue sky in the dark night. Forgiveness is the greatest virtue. The androids have finally extended their lives by saving their enemies. This is a beautiful irony for people who are inhuman and only know how to kill.
He once said that eternity is fleeting in the torrent of time, like tears in the rain falling silently. The hour of death has finally come.
