I feel that Revenge of the Sith is the most successful and gripping of the series. Not only because of the tear-jerking memories to come, but also because of the revelation long enough - when human desires shred the conscience of the self at the last moment, and when the light turns to darkness, stand for change. How should we face possible destruction before the turning wheel of human destiny?
This brings me back to Shakespeare's Othello, a tragedy brewed out of jealousy. Only this time, our "Othello" did not feel sorry for himself, but became the evil Darth Vader.
It seems that I have been exposed to many such stories when I was very young: children became the jewels of everyone's palms and received every kind of care. However, children grow up to become cynical and domineering. Adults don't understand why a child who has been cared and taught enough is like this?
When a person lives in the world, what is the most important thing to him? I think it's not those so-called ethics, nor those illusory human feelings, nor those unattainable loyalty and righteousness. "Fit", he cherishes all the things that fit his personality, although some things will change due to environmental education, but with age, this change will hardly happen (except for major events) , he will continue to move in the direction that has been etched in his heart.
Anakin has both high self-recognition, high self-esteem, and jealousy due to changes in age and circumstances (Othello). It can be said that the seeds of evil were planted in Anakin's heart a long time ago. We see his jealousy of power and desperate desire to be recognized by the Presbyterian (though he isn't actually that strong). Also, Anakin blamed Obi-Wan for restricting his movements, arguing that Obi-Wan was repeatedly hindering him out of fear of his progress. Perhaps, we can attribute these to age. Anakin was indeed still young and could easily be deceived by appearances.
Likewise, his jealousy extends to love. Anakin, who is sweet for the first time, will of course protect his "queen" in every possible way, but fate often likes to joke. The vision in the dream made Anakin uneasy, and he seemed to feel that the love was not as strong as he thought. He began to be suspicious of his master, and he also began to question himself. Is the path of the Jedi really the path he wants to take? Under the temptation of Chancellor Palpatine, Anakin gradually succumbed to the dark side of himself.
There is a saying that is really true: "Our worst enemy is actually ourselves".
Anakin's last moments of self-jealousy combined with a pent-up desire for authority were finally released. He's less confident because he doesn't feel enough support, doesn't feel enough trust from his lover. Possessively inflated, he slaughtered frantically for the things he didn't want to lose. Finally, when the crowd fell at his feet, he was completely intoxicated.
At first, people expected Anakin to balance the Force, but in the end, he couldn't even balance himself. What a ridiculous prophecy! The hero finally became the devil, why is this?
Perhaps, the movie allows us to see a seemingly wonderful hope, which is the future of human beings that human beings have been controlling for thousands of years - justice will eventually triumph over evil! However, if you have watched this movie, please realize that the future of mankind is not in the hands of just a few people, and no one will definitely become a prophecy after all. What human beings want to unravel is the confusion of the self and find a way to maintain the balance between the self and the universe!
"Of all things in the world, the least human beings understand is themselves..."
