The cruel and desolate beauty of nature is better than the bitter face of Lao Li

Survival in the wilderness was the norm for the ancestors, but for us modern urbanites who live comfortably, it has become a shocking theme with multiple stimulations of the senses and souls. It was another two-hour film, and my legs were a little sore from sitting, but it was really not too long and not dull. There's not much suspense in the plot, but the scene is really beautiful.

I almost missed it, thinking it was a racial dispute between whites and Indians, an epic film, and when I heard about old Li Chongao and the like, thinking of his excessive acting skills, I was very uninterested to watch it. But I was pulled by a friend to see it, and found that two survivors were pinched. Lao Li and Tang Laoshi are acting against each other. Although Tang Laoshi has a lot less acting, but I really think his performance is natural, and Xu Soo and this villain don't feel very annoying anymore. Brother Fei is not only a very principled person, but his principles are also very simple. Although he is an outstanding representative of "conscience is eaten by dogs", he is also a survivor in the final analysis, and all actions are caused by threats to his own interests. If someone pointed a gun at him, he would shoot back without hesitation, and once he found that the other party was bluffing without ammunition, he could write it off immediately and live in peace. If I want to say that this fellow has a very clear mind, he just has no morals.

In contrast, Lao Li's role, with so many shots, played so hard, what was it portrayed? It really can't be thin anymore. The toughest person in the whole film is his cheap wife and hard-working child. There is no way to believe that the sense of disobedience is unclear, and it is a family watching. Could it be that Lao Li's starlight can't see him as a character?

Why do I feel scolded? Just write it here.

Except for photography and those fancy long shots, it is really meaningless. I can only be interested in making special episodes behind the scenes.

Before I let go of the planks and sank into the Atlantic Ocean, now I hold on to the wood and live in America.

The Revenant quotes

  • John Fitzgerald: You all right there kid? Your head in the right place?

Bridger: I guess... I can't help thinking about whether we did the right...

John Fitzgerald: No! Ain't our place to wonder. The good Lord got us on a road whether we choose it or not.

John Fitzgerald: My pop, he weren't a religious man, you know? If you couldn't grow it, kill it, or eat it, he just plain old didn't believe in it, that was it. And this one time he head on up the old Saba hills... San Saba hills? He joined a couple Texas Ranger buddies of his to hunt you know? pretty routine, he done it like a hundred times before, should have been a three-day kill but, on the second day, it all went fucked. Somehow that night he lost his buddies, and to top it off, them Comanches went and took the horses so, he was starving and delirious... and he crawls up into this mott, this... this group of trees out in the middle of nowhere just sticking up in this ocean of scrub and he found religion. At that moment he told me... he found God. And it turns out that God... He's a squirrel. Yea. A big, old meaty one. "I found God" he used to say. "And while sitting there and basking in the glory and sublimity of mercy... I shot and ate that son of a bitch".

John Fitzgerald: Yeah. You might want to close your eyes kid.

  • Toussaint: [in french] Bring me the girl! Those five horses weren't for free!
