Loved the old man movies for a long time, he was a memorable one, from his Red Dead trilogy, or Unforgivable. His movies can be loved by all parties, at least I think so. There is no goofy audience of Hollywood films, nor the obscure cinematic construction of realist films. It is suitable to watch the movie with a normal mentality and bring us the thinking, this, the old man always does a good job.
To put it bluntly, the classic car is a bit American-style heroism, but his subject matter and the delicate treatment of the old man have overshadowed the flaws of the movie. Of course, it's not Eastwood without flaws. I don't think his films are perfect, but it makes people feel very recognizable.
Let's talk about the topic, at the beginning of the film, the expression of the old man has already depicted his character vividly, the stubborn and stubborn old man, he has already watched the film and will let him change later. But when the old man got back to the door, he saw the Asian neighbors who had moved in. I just found out that this movie has a racial theme. The plot behind it is basically imaginary. The old man would be friends with the Asian guy he didn't like at first, but I didn't dare to think that the old man would die in the end. When I saw it later, I wanted to turn off the computer, for fear of seeing the damn ending. However, the plot develops very smoothly, and it does not make people feel that the final ending is pretending to be sad.
Eastwood's skills are indeed very good, the details of the characters are in place, and the plot develops very smoothly. Each of the main characters in the play is full of personalities. I like the part where the old man and the Miao boy Tao become friends and teach Tao how to be a man. It is full of American humor, and Tao interprets it very well from the shyness at the beginning to the shouting at the old man at the end of the movie. The Vietnamese who play Tao may have some traces of acting skills, but the image is very consistent with Tao in the play.
Although it is very common to use props as characters in the film, the classic car still feels new to people, a classic classic car from 1972.
It's better than the shed baby of the same year.
