pink letterhead

I ordered "Want to see" for this film last fall. Not for the HTC cast. Instead, I feel that a luxury hotel on the brink of the disappearance of the old world is always a stage for a good story. Originally, I would have thought that there were complicated structures and uninteresting tributes and recourses. Unexpectedly, the director even used sweet cakes and large swathes of pink to restore the lost dream so cute that it made people cry. The once dignified and sophisticated, in addition to the lines exported by the protagonists, still have golden light, cartoon-like color matching and rhythm, it is enough to make people recall in tears the ideals that once existed in this world in the last century, Paragons, rules, and even a refreshing scent. Although they were all destroyed by war. And Adrien Brody's Madam D's son, whose madness, cruelty, and neuroticism seems so charming to me. Not all nobles are role models for all beings in the world. At the same time, something beautiful and cruel, you can only helplessly evaluate it as ruthless. The day before yesterday, I was still reading Maugham's "The Casuarina Tree". Maugham's Mr. Warburton devoted his life to becoming a member of the upper class. Even though he was used, ridiculed and expelled by the social circle he admired and maintained, he had to commit himself to Malay. The British resident branch in the region, he must also maintain many habits of British society surrounded by a group of Malay native servants, and pay close attention to the "Times" that will be delivered six weeks after the British are out of the street. Report on the whereabouts of the nobles. I saw Mr. Warburton in Gustavo. It's just that Gustavo was lucky, he was not rejected by the upper class he admired and studied (although he was framed and chased because of his wealth). The reason I think is that in his attitude, a little "game spirit" is preciously preserved. How many people can face the prompt of game over calmly and even humorously? Poems are recited on the edge of the cliff, and they die at the brutal muzzle of the gun for the sake of others. Gustavo is truly committed to becoming the last gentleman and aristocrat not in terms of blood, but in terms of spirit and behavioral norms.

It’s refreshing, high-level and fresh. Only a childlike director like Wes Anderson can maintain his brilliant imagination and always reconcile dreamlike colors. A large group of celebrities are familiar with each other and have fun. However, it's cool, and I haven't been touched yet. In comparison, I still prefer "Moonrise Kingdom" which talks about children's elopement, "The Great Fox Daddy" which talks about the fox family, summer movie, four-star recommendation.

Needless to say, the excellent degree of the film, Wes Anderson has reached another peak of his own. The composition, format, camera, lines, characters, narration are all extremely perfect, funny, nostalgic, warm, black... I admire this kind of film very much, but I can't fall in love with it from the bottom of my heart. For me, it is too perfect and exquisite, it can almost be offered up. On the contrary, it is not as natural and casual as Anderson's previous RUSHMORE, Fox, and Yuesheng.

The Grand Budapest Hotel quotes

  • M. Gustave: How does one come by front row aisle seats for a first night at the Opera Toscana with one day's notice? How does one arrange a private viewing of the tapestry collection at the Royal Saxon Gallery? How does one secure a corner table at Chez Dominique on a Thursday?

    [to Ivan, on the telephone]

    M. Gustave: Ivan, darling, it's Gustave, hello!... Well, I was until about five minutes ago. We've taken it upon ourselves to clear out in a hurry, if you see what I mean... Well, through a sewer, as it happens... Exactly! Listen, Ivan, I'm sorry to cut you off, but we're in a bit of a bind. This is an official request. I'm formally calling on the special services of...

  • M. Gustave: I'm not angry with Serge; you can't blame someone for their basic lack of moral fiber. He's a frightened little yellow-bellied coward. It's not his fault, is it?

Zero: I don't know, it depends.

    M. Gustave: Well, you can say that about most anything, "it depends". Of course it depends.

Zero: Of course it depends, of course it depends.

    M. Gustave: Yes, I suppose you're right; of course it depends. However, that doesn't mean I'm not going to throttle the little swamp rat.
