The Grand Budapest Hotel: a spooky journey through time

It turns out that the Grand Budapest Hotel has nothing to do with Budapest. At first, I thought it was a blockbuster movie, but later I thought it was a suspense movie. After seeing it, I finally realized that it used the Grand Hotel, the gate of time and space, to pay tribute to Zweig and the lost Europe.

Four short chapters, the curiosity of young writers, the killer and the doorman, the relationship between father and son, the noble family and famous paintings, the spreading war, are connected in the field of the Grand Budapest Hotel. Social relationships, they are serviced by Xianda, the staff supplier of the restaurant, and other restaurants of the same level. Even an individual who thinks he is alone, still silently extends his tentacles through daily life.

The music is also full of stories, the beginning and the end echo without repetition, and the layers are rich and not boring.

The visual and lens language can be described as impeccable, every detail has been carefully crafted, and it is very attractive, with a large amount of information and attractiveness that stay frame by frame. High saturation, symmetrical beauty, the use of solid colors, solemn, clean and spacious. The snow was finally fixed on black and white film, thousands of wealth swayed with the wind, and it ended up in a white land that was really clean.

Of course, to some extent, this film also connects my own time and space. It always reminded me of the Affiliated High School, even though I was in it at the time, I didn't realize the importance of secondary education at all.

Those romantic verses are interspersed in the film from time to time, thinking of Dead poem society, which was screened at our first class meeting. Captain introduced what Thoreau wrote in "Walden", I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. Therefore, people must "sucking the marrow out of life" to live. the " Four Pillars " of Welton Academy: Tradition , Honor , Discipline , Excellence, this is almost the precious pillar of life left to us by the Affiliated High School! Later, when we encountered unfortunate things in life, we would always turn to the Dead Poets Society. At the end, the Scottish bagpipes sounded. The students stood on the table and watched the captain leave. It was like a farewell when we were growing up. We must learn to say goodbye before we can continue. forward.

As for Zweig, the teacher of the language group in the attached middle school strongly recommended "Yesterday's World" and "When the Stars of Humanity Shine". It can be said that the language group is the soul of the attached middle school. The books recommended by the teachers at that time sowed the seeds of idealism in our minds that had not yet been baptized by society. Zweig wrote about his childhood life in Vienna, spent a few minutes going to theaters and movies, and also wrote about the great souls of that era, and finally committed suicide with his wife in America. That Europe is gone, where is our civilization? Later, I saw Meng Jinghui's play "Letter from a Strange Woman", a very experimental one-man show, but the performance was a bit overdone, and the hysteria could not express the vigorous vitality of the individual. Life is about burning with restraint, not screaming.

Finally, let's talk about the two paintings that appeared in the movie, "Apple Boy" and the works of Egon Schiele. The former is the work of contemporary artists. When a teenager holds an apple, he always thinks of the apple metaphor in the biblical story, while Egon Schiele's expressionist paintings were once considered immoral. As a representative artist of the Vienna Secession, Egon Schiele was an apprentice of Klimt, who was the author of the famous painting "The Kiss". Schiller was deeply influenced by Nietzsche and Freud, and the characters and scenes depicted are not static, but reveal a fiery and restless primordial desire. He emphasizes the clear outline of the image, and likes to use red, yellow and black to express strong emotions. But this is expressionism, the power of life, intertwined between life and death, between past and future.
