I admit that I decided to download this drama after seeing the words "Otaku must watch". I've always stayed away from American sitcoms. For example, the most famous "Friends", after barely watching three episodes, I found that I really couldn't adapt to the legendary American humor. Then after Heroes, Lost, and Housewives went around like this, an American sitcom reappeared on my hard drive, and luckily, I love this one!
The definition of otaku is very confusing. Fortunately, TXs who are on the Internet generally have their own understanding, and they don't need to seek common ground. If you have to have a more comprehensive understanding, I personally think this drama is a good choice.
Four geniuses, four nerds, and four otakus. When I saw them around a blond beauty and elicited endless laughter, I thought of the nerdy qualities of them that I was all too familiar with.
Let's talk about Leonardo first, he is a relatively normal otaku, shy, kind, and has a small social circle but has a few buddies who share the same disease. Not sociable, but much better than Sheldon, and even has a faint sense of leadership (in his small circle); sleazy at heart, but not as blatant as Jewish men; often confronts Penny He was at a loss, but with an Indian man there for comparison, he was already quite talkative. Leonardo is the most normal otaku, but not the perfect otaku. He is just the most common of thousands of otaku brothers.
And then there's Sheldon, the extraordinarily neurotic otaku. Although some data show that he is the one with the highest IQ among the four geniuses. It's a pity that I don't need any information to know that he is the most obsessed among the four nerds. It feels like Sheldon is the kind of person who takes the otaku's inner-show qualities to the extreme. Except for Wenk and the corrupted North Korean kid, his theoretical level is basically invincible in the play (it should be, sorry I only watched the first season). He represents the special skills that otaku are most proud of, and these skills are often ignored in real society.
The wretched otaku Howard, it is difficult to say that he is an otaku in the traditional sense. Although his level of picking up girls is really bad, he is shameless. Compared with the other three, he has contacted the most women. He seems to be an externalization of the wretched temperament that otakus have always kept in their hearts. Just like my roommate often told my other roommate: don't be bored in your heart, if you want to show off, show it off!
Raj, from India, he has magical powers. Under normal circumstances, it is impossible to talk to women, unless it is drinking alcohol or taking special drugs with obvious side effects. And even when he could speak, he was clumsy and always eager to insert Indian elements into the conversation that no one but him could understand. Raj's characteristics explain why otakus are otaku: to the same sex, they are often as straightforward and unreasonable as Sheldon; to the opposite sex, they are often temporarily aphasia like Raj. Occasionally, the drunken cowardly, the otakus began to talk incessantly, and the content also made most women at a loss.
To sum up, this is an immortal masterpiece dedicated to otaku, allowing otakus to savor the pain and joy of otaku in a joke that makes people feel incomprehensible. At the same time, I also accompany the otakus in front of the computer and continue to stay home!
