evil nature

The scale of "A Clockwork Orange" is very large, it is evil enough, but it is also close enough to the real humanity, because we cannot forget the shocking scenes and tragedies that have happened in history, the tragic history even surpasses the retelling of all images ! One thought to become a Buddha, one thought to become a Buddha, this refers to the dual nature of the human mind. Most literary and artistic works involve sex and violence. The audience consumes those hidden violence in a clever way. They are displayed in the struggle between "bad people" and "good people", attacks that punish evil and promote good, and those who do evil. The attacks all actually caused the same bloodshed. It's ironic that the evil Alex in the film says he's drawn to the violence and pornography of the biblical story, he's honest after all, because he's clearly aware that his joy lies in brutality and pornography. Saying that he has no interest in deception and preaching, an overly intelligent and overly evil Thaadism.

Society must control evil, because no one wants to suffer for no reason. But evil is divided into naked evil and evil dressed by Qiao Zhuang. When the homeless group seeks justice and when politicians treat people as pawns, the evil is equally terrifying. It is easy for people to ignore the disgust caused by the evil that is covered up. For example, the public ignores the brutality of the prisoners because of their personal interests, and the revenge of the bullied makes people feel refreshed. Alex's evil is the kind of "low-level evil" that everyone shouts and beats. This is a childish thing compared to the evil of politicians and righteous people. The greater evil will be surrounded by flowers and applause.

The image design of Alex's villainous group is infantile, absolutely self-centered, hedonistic without shame, and ignoring the pain of others. The "milk bar" is probably ironic about the baby's appetite, smoking and drinking, all of which are the desire to devour. Another group of rapists in the film, dressed in camouflage and presumably identifying as "evil bats," are on par with the Alex group. It seems that soldiers and giant babies are interchangeable, and Alex's friend has indeed transformed from villain to soldier. Both the incarnation of evil and the messenger of justice need brutal power, and the meaning of different labels is different, so there will be a distinction between bandits and military bandits in times of war.

The film hides an Oedipus complex in it, a veiled expression of what happened in the place "home", "happening at home". The writer's wife happens to be wearing red as well as Alex's mother, the other cat woman killed by the penis ceramic has red hair, and the "red woman raped and murdered" recurs. The hatred and attacks of Alex are all the old people, the old homeless and the old writers. The "nose" being beaten in prison and the death of the "snake" are all metaphors for castration. These stories can be superimposed and vaguely emerge. The emotional impulse of the Oedipus complex.

The somewhat post-modern picture style and the BGM of the classical soundtrack make people shudder. The scene where the eyeballs are fixed is really meaningful. In Kubrick's hands, the orange of Clockwork Orange is magnified, and it is given a philosophical society thinking about violence and evil, which is indeed the style of Kubrick. Alex was not relieved in Beethoven's music, and those big eyes still made people panic.

A Clockwork Orange quotes

  • Frank Alexander: [hears knocking on the door] Who on Earth could that be?

Julian: I'll see who it is.

    [goes to the front door]

    Julian: Yes, what is it?

Alex: [barely audible] Help... please... help... help.

Julian: [opens the door and Alex collapses at the doorway. He carries Alex into the house] Frank, I think this young man needs some help.

Frank Alexander: [surprised by Alex's poor condition] My God! What happened to you, my boy?

Alex: [voice-over] And would you believe it, o my brothers and only friends. There was your faithful narrator being held helpless, like a babe in arms, and suddenly realizing where he was and why home on the gate had looked so familiar, but I knew I was safe. For in those care-free days, I and my so-called droogies wore our maskies, which were like real horror-show disguises.

Alex: [nervous] Police... ghastly horrible police... they beat me up, sir.

[sees Frank has a foul look on his face, apparently not believing him]

Alex: The police beat me up, sir.

Frank Alexander: [excited] I know you!

    [pauses]

Frank Alexander: Isn't it your picture in the newspapers? Didn't I see you on the video this morning? Are you not the poor victim of this horrible new technique?

Alex: [relieved] Yes, sir! That's exactly who I am and what I am, sir. A victim, sir!

Frank Alexander: Then, by God, you've been sent here by providence! Tortured in prison, then thrown out to be tortured by the police. My heart goes out to you, poor, poor boy. Oh, you are not the first to come here in distress. The police are fond of bringing their victims to the outskirts of this village. But it is providential that you, who are also another kind of victim should come here.

Frank Alexander: [finally remembering Alex's state] Oh, but you're cold and shivering. Julian, draw a bath for this young man.

    Julian: Certainly, Frank.

Alex: [as he is being carried off by Julian] Thank you very much, sir. God bless you, sir.

  • Alex: Hey dad, there's a strange fella sittin' on the sofa munchy-wunching lomticks of toast.

Dad: That's Joe. He lives here now. The lodger, that's what he is. He rents your room.
