The dissolution of revenge

After watching Lim Neeson’s "Cold Pursuit", although this is a revenge for his son, it has jumped out of Liam’s many movies of this type, jumping repeatedly between cold-blooded revenge and human tenderness, and there is a little bit Cold humor. Through a lot of humor, this film dispelled the seriousness of revenge, and dispelled the nobility of the so-called barbarians in the western films. The opening movie Liam was awarded the honor of best townsman because he drove a snowplow and brought a road to civilization in the small town of Keoh. At the end of the film, Liam and Bai Niu drove a snowplow and walked towards civilization together. This can actually explain the director's attitude. Civilization is fragile, and blood revenge is something outside of civilization. But if civilization cannot provide comfort and compensation, people will inevitably move toward primitive means.

The part about Indians in the film is very fun, there are so many stalks, what reservations and appointments, Indians and Indians are homophonic stalks. I like the subtitles that appear after the little brother hangs up. The most funny thing is the death of the 20-yuan brother, and the pirate group while drinking vegetable juice while watching the big sister pinch the boss's egg.

The plot can not be carefully pondered, just for the dead to die happily. But I really like the sense of humor in this film. It combines well with the blood of the story. It's a bit like a low-profile version of the Coen brothers.

The way of dealing with black humor and the use of kill who as the chapter title is very interesting. Unlike the previous trilogy, this one is restrained and vicious, which is very interesting.

Cold Pursuit quotes

  • Nels Coxman: I'm gonna kill him, Brock.

Brock: Sure you are. What makes you think you can kill a man?

Nels Coxman: I've killed three of his guys.

Brock: What did you do with the bodies?

Nels Coxman: Wrapped them in chicken wire, threw them on the gorge.

    Brock: Chicken wire?

Nels Coxman: Yeah, to let the fish get at them. They'll eat the flesh off the bones. So the bodies don't fill with gas and rise. They stay at the bottom.

Brock: Where did you learn that?

Nels Coxman: I read it in a crime novel.
