Cat and Mouse is a movie based on true events. It tells the story of a cat-and-mouse arrest and counter-arrest between FBI agent Carl and criminal Frank, who is good at forging documents. The protagonist Frank grew up in a warm family. The parents are loving, the family is harmonious and happy. Because of some things, on the first day of going to the new school, in order to avoid the humiliation of the classmates, he played the role of a French substitute teacher to teach the classmates. After being found out, he was dropped out. Later, because his father's family went bankrupt and his mother divorced his father, he tried every means to forge checks to "earn" money, and he felt that his mother would return to his father when he had money. The influence of a family on a child is enormous. The film also shows the dangers of divorce: the divorce of parents ruins an innocent child and gradually leads him to a criminal path. How difficult and important it is to be a parent. Every word and deed, every move, may become the guidance of the children, no matter right or wrong. All of Frank's later approaching skills, insight and use of people's hearts came from his father's immersion in his childhood. Whether it was receiving the mayor's award outside, or being in love with his mother at home, in a sense, his father became the most perfect role model in Frank's heart. In Frank's eyes, the most direct reason for the brokenness of this home was the lack of money. Because of the lack of money, my father is no longer as romantic as before. In order to save money, he often travels outside. Also because of lack of money, the mother finally gave up the family and remarried. Therefore, all subsequent actions of Frank are based on the desire for a home. In fact, the meaning of everyone's life is for the family. From this point of view, Carl is also a loser. His wife leaves and his daughter takes away. His life becomes boring and meaningless. He saves his own life by saving this little criminal. In his life, he could not see the lack of his beloved daughter. Frank made up for him. Subconsciously, Frank became his lost child. This is his self-salvation, saving himself by saving little Frank and making his life meaningful, Carl needs a child, and Frank needs a home, they complement each other and compensate each other. If analyzed rationally, this film is also an expression of human nature. Frank's dad asked Frank, why the Yankees can always win? His answer was because that team had sports stars on it. Dad's reply was: Because the other teams couldn't stop looking at the Yankees' striped uniforms. What Frank's father said became the creed of Frank's deception in the future. The protagonist changes into a suit that the captain wears, because this suit represents social status and allows him to be everywhere. become the focus. Also earn everyone's respect. This includes the front desk who refused to check him into a hotel because he didn't look like the upper class, as well as the bank staff who refused to cash checks. It turns out that scams are not hard to spot, but that the deceived are often more easily fooled by the falsehoods provided by the deceiver, thereby ignoring the truth. It’s just the application of this kind of psychology that can easily lead people to fall into a lonely trust maze, and can no longer trust anyone around them. Frank did, and so did Karl. When Frank called Carl on Christmas night, he told him where he really lived, but Carl felt the intentional exposure was misleading. And when Carl went to France to find Frank, Frank behaved the same way, he believed that Carl was lying to himself in order to bring himself to justice. It’s a human irony and a manifestation of social distancing. In fact, even if modern people do not use Frank's deception skills, they are still very alert to strangers, which is also natural. "Cat and Mouse" shows us a wonderful psychological game and psychological redemption between police detectives and suspects.
