For ten years now, FRIENDS has offered millions of us countless laughs, a few tears, and above all else, that unusual yet powerful sense of community. Those of us who have followed the lives and mating habits of Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey and Phoebe have connected FRIENDS with an enduring power that has reaffirmed TV's unique ability to bring us together out of thin air. Thanks to some wonderful writing, vivid acting, and creative production, the story of these six lovely-albeit fictional-individuals has somehow become our own story.
The connection we feel with the show is the most heartening success story here. And that is what will keep FRIENDS alive in our hearts-and in eternal syndication-forever. The curiously intimate connection between FRIENDS and its viewers is the show's greatest legacy, central perk, Monica's house...Comparing the first chapter of the first season and the last chapter of the tenth season, there are filled with laughing and crying from both the actor and the viewer.
Seeing this series, I think I have become one of their friends already. Their voices appear around my ears when I was talking with my friends even their stories emerge in my dream sometimes...Seems I have a bit crazy about it, haven't I?
'FRIENDS' was a show about people-less about action than interaction. Through its highs and low-through fame and fortune-this show with the friendly name kept the faith with its audience. It made us smile. It made us laugh at ourselves sometimes. It made us care about some other people, even if they only existed in out hearts and minds. And if we occasionally got frustrated with them-hey, I believe that happens with real friends too. Through it all, they were, true to their words, there for us as well.
“I believe Jen to be one of the finest comediennes ever,” says David Schwimmer, after a decade of playing Ross to her Rachel. “Her timing, her instincts are so, so good, and so on the money. She has this rare combination: not many girls that attractive are that funny and have that much heart. She's got the emotional life underneath it to match the funny. And she's adorable. It's a triple threat."
To make me moved is the following sentences from Jennifer Aniston:
“The best part of this job is knowing that we give something to people that they enjoy. That's just the greatest gift of all, and if people ain't enjoying it anymore, then we don't want to do it. Every single person in this cast is my family. They feel like a part of my family. And what I appreciate about them is how everybody's work is consistent and everybody's work is committed. What I admire is the evolution of everybody's craft, which has been so much fun to watch unfold as we all learned our comedy chops. We've all learned together how to be better actors. I learn from these guys every single day I walk on to the set. Just on our first two days back for this last season, we were laughing-gut-wrenching laughter that gives me such a high. I'm gonna miss them. I'm gonna miss Matthew Perry making me laugh and then making me cry.I'm gonna miss all of them. And I'm gonna see them. There's no way I'm not-they're not leaving my life. There's just no way. Hopefully at least, we all say that. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. But I cannot tell you how much I love and respect this cast.”
This is what Jen said, this is also what we feel about as the matter of fact. Good acting, good writing, good producing, good humor, good intentions…there's impossible for us to stop missing these guys…
