A very good psychology movie, if you thought it was a horror movie, it would be a big mistake.
The storyline is not very complicated. After the child psychologist Mike was shot and killed for failing to cure a patient, after experiencing this incident, Mike vowed to cure another child with similar symptoms - Cole. After winning Cole's trust step by step, he learned Cole's secret, that is, Cole has a sixth sense and can see ghosts, which is also the reason for Cole's illness. Mike said he didn't believe it before, but when he was listening to a tape, he found out that it happened. To that end he tells Cole that the best way to deal with ghosts is to listen to them and help them. So, under the guidance of Mike, Cole was no longer afraid and helped the ghost to fulfill his unfulfilled wish. In the end, Cole even helped Mike by telling him how to deal with his wife called a stranger.
I think the movie might not have been so great without those last few minutes. When Mike returned home, he suddenly realized that he was already dead, that he was also a ghost, and he helped Cole, and Cole helped himself. Thinking of what he said to Cole before about not being scared anymore was listening, really from the point of view of being a ghost. When the movie is put here, it is obvious that people and ghosts help each other, which naturally reaches another level.
Therefore, although the movie category says thriller and horror, this movie feels very soothing, even full of lingering warmth and a touch of sadness as some people say. The most touching thing is of course the conversation between Cole and his mother in the car. The two worlds of life and death seem to be connected at once. I don't know what it would be like if such a thing happened, whether my loved ones who have passed away have a lot to say to me, a lot of secrets to share with me, the only thing I can do is to think about it occasionally They, know that they once existed so vividly in this world.
