As Quentin's debut feature, this crime film showed his talent and unique style early. Unlike ordinary crime movies, the focus is not on the intense gunfights, but on the twists and turns of the wonderful story, the narrative method of multi-line narrative. As soon as the story begins, it's like a prelude to the whole story, and a circle of men in suits around the table discuss the yellow meaning of the song. This is a somewhat absurd scene. The audience does not know who these people are and what they do, but based on their conversations I felt the sense of loss of value behind the conversation, which foreshadowed the subsequent farce. The story adopts a multi-line narrative method. The audience first saw Mr. Bai with the bloody Mr. Orange, followed by the panicked Mr. Fan. The process of the incident was omitted and jumped directly to the meeting of these robbers. The details of the crime can only be guessed from their conversations. Therefore, the text of the lines has become very important. In addition to the previous dialogue, it can be seen that Mr. Bai does not approve of indiscriminate killing of innocents, Mr. Fan is cautious, Mr. Jin is a perverted murderer, Mr. Brown died, and Mr. Lan's life and death are unknown. Although there are quite a lot of characters, the only ones who have special transitions are Mr. Bai, Jin, and Mr. Orange. Mr. Bai is an old friend of the envoy Qiao. Although he is not so "professional", he is the most human of these people. Although as a robber, this affection seems a bit out of place, but this is indeed the character. three-dimensional side. Mr. Jin has just been released from prison on bail. He is like father and son Qiao and disregards rules and human life, but he is also very loyal to his companions. Therefore, Mr. Orange's lies are almost completely unbelievable by father and son Qiao. Finally, Mr. Orange, as an undercover police officer, he has his own bottom line and conscience, so he will grieve for the manslaughter of civilians, and for the police colleague who shot Mr. Jin, he will not hesitate to expose for it; he has superb acting skills, relying on vivid stories Gained Joe's trust and participated in the actions of these outlaws.

At the end of the film, Mr. Orange is almost exposed. Mr. Bai, who has long been suspicious of Qiao and his son because of Mr. Jin's behavior, confronted the Qiaos and his son. The tough Mr. Bai was one to two, but he was also seriously injured. The cautious Mr. Fan stayed away from the fight and tried to run away with diamonds, but the door was already full of police. Moved by Mr. Bai's affection, Mr. Orange finally revealed the truth, "I'm sorry, I'm a policeman." However, the truth hurts. Mr. Bai's painful moans and the last few gunshots brought this absurd tragic story to an end.

The whole movie is very smooth, blood is abundant, and the violence is impacted and restrained by Quentin. The characters and contradictions of these people at the beginning seemed to be foreshadowed in the beginning of the conversation. Is there any real trust between these rabble? Mr. Bai and Qiao are old friends. At the dinner table, he has sympathy for the fate of uneducated women in this country, and he seems to be a decent person; Mr. Brown talks freely, but the strange thing is that there is no scene in the back, which may be the director's intention. The decent policemen were clearly waiting outside, but because they wanted to capture Qiao, they allowed the hostage police to be abused by the kidnappers, which is also thought-provoking.

Reservoir Dogs quotes

  • [after hearing Orange's smuggling story]

Joe: Only one thing to do in that case: shit in yer pants an' dive in and swim!

  • Mr. Pink: [about Mr. Blonde] He seems okay now, but he was crazy in the store.

Mr. White: This is what he was doing...

    [mimics randomly shooting innocent bystanders]

Mr. White: Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!

Mr. Blonde: Yeah, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam. I told 'em not to touch the alarm... but they touched it. If they hadn't done what I told 'em not to do, they'd still be alive.

Mr. White: [clapping] My fucking hero.

Mr. Blonde: [taking a bow] Thanks.

Mr. White: That's your excuse for going on a kill-crazy rampage?

Mr. Blonde: I don't like alarms, Mr. White.
