Have you noticed the ending of some thoughts on "The Truman World"?

This is a wonderful and thought-provoking film.

Truman has lived in a virtual world since he was a child. In this world that is being watched by people all over the world, only Truman is a real person. The people around him and what happens are all carefully arranged by the director. I have to say that Truman is sad, there is no privacy and no freedom, but thinking at a deeper level, not only Truman's misfortune, but also the misfortune of everyone in modern society is reflected from him! The director does not hesitate to manipulate a person's fate for his own sake, and the actor abandons his real life for the sake of being on camera or his career. Those viewers who pay attention to Truman and pay attention to this show may have an entertainment mentality, or they may satisfy the desire for voyeurism. To a certain extent, it contributed to the tragedy of Truman. There is also a society that has been seriously infiltrated by the media and even deformed. The director used an exaggerated but thought-provoking method to interpret the world of Truman.

I admire Truman very much. When he learned that everyone around him was acting on him and his fate was being manipulated, he was puzzled, angry, confused, and lost. . He even hesitated when facing the exit of the real world, but he still resolutely walked out of the false world he had lived in for 30 years! How courageous this is! No matter how false this world is, it is the place where Truman really spent the past thirty years, and it has become an indelible part. Therefore, when faced with the sincere retention of the program planners, the panic of the outside world and the fears of the outside world are very important. The hesitation is understandable. However, the thirst for the outside world and the disgust for the false world finally made Truman walk out of the exit, the exit to the world that should belong to Truman.

I think what director Peter Weir wants to criticize is not only the mercenary of this society, but also to tell us through Truman that we must have the courage to pursue an independent personality. At the end of the film, Truman's dialogue with the producer classically interprets the main theme of the film, "The outside world is as false as the world I gave you, with the same lies, and the same fraud. But in my world You don't have to be afraid of anything, I know yourself better than you." "You are afraid, so you can't walk, Truman doesn't matter, I understand. I watched your life, I watched you when you were born; when you learned to walk , I'm watching you; you're entering school, I'm watching you; and the scene where you lose your first tooth. You can't leave, Trumen, you belong here, come with me." As he said, Chu Even if the door goes to the outside world, there will be more unknown hypocrisy, which is more dangerous than the world he gave. If Truman chooses to stay, he will live a comfortable life, because all the people inside will follow the script for Truman. To create a safe world, at least without unknown dangers, and continue to be an icon for people all over the world. However, all this is at the expense of a normal and independent personality! A life imprisoned like a puppet, imprisoned in the eyes of people all over the world like a prisoner with nowhere to escape, and even in the end, even I don't even know who I am! Gradually become a soulless actor! What is respectable is that after discovering the truth, Trumen sailed to the other side of the year without hesitation, and would rather die on the way to the real world than compromise with the tragic hypocrisy! Because Truman has not lost a person's most basic and most precious independent personality!

I think this is the director's intention to make this movie.

The reason why I think this film is wonderful is because it has a lot of thought-provoking value. Even the fleeting images carry deep meaning. The end of the film is often the finishing touch. When the audience in front of the TV saw Truman finally struggle, everyone seemed to be worried about Truman from the perspective of Truman, and everyone felt that Truman should go. Going out, when Truman finally lived up to expectations and left the virtual world, everyone was moved to tears and cheered for his victory. But everyone has overlooked one point, who tied Trumen inside? Some people say it's the program planner, some people say Truman himself. Yes, the director planned the tragedy of Truman, and Truman himself unconsciously continued the tragedy. However, if it is not driven by the ratings of these so-called audiences who care about Truman, how could this show be able to use a deformed form to survive? No one would think of Truman's sadness and injustice, except Truman's first love. When everyone looked at Truman talking to himself in the mirror, watching Truman feel guilty about his father, watching Truman's yearning for the outside world, but was blocked again and again by the prearranged situation No one will think, no one will condemn, because these "everyone" are just watching the show for entertainment, not the protagonist of the show! So at the end of the film, the two policemen felt bored after watching the show and found the next show, instead of Truman running excitedly on the way to find their first love. But this flash of ending left me thinking for a long time. I think, maybe when the program planner looks for the next target to recreate a world of so-and-so, then people all over the world will turn on the TV without hesitation and peep at other people's sad virtual life!

The Truman Show quotes

  • [In the control room, Christof grabs a headset and a monitor to see Truman standing in front of the door to the real world]

    Christof: Truman.

[Truman hears Christof's booming voice coming from the sky]

Christof: You can speak. I can hear you.

    Truman Burbank: Who are you?

Christof: I am the creator... of a television show that gives hope and joy and inspiration to millions.

Truman Burbank: Then who am I?

    Christof: You're the star.

    Truman Burbank: Was nothing real?

Christof: *You* were real. That's what made you so good to watch.

[Truman turns back to face the door]

Christof: Listen to me, Truman. There's no more truth out there than there is in the world I created for you. The same lies. The same deceit. But in my world, you have nothing to fear. I know you better than you know yourself.

Truman Burbank: [insulted] You never had a camera in my head!

Christof: You're afraid. That's why you can't leave. It's okay, Truman. I understand. I have been watching you your whole life. I was watching when you were born. I was watching when you took your first step. I watched you on your first day of school.

    [chuckles]

Christof: The episode where you lost your first tooth.

    [smiles]

Christof: You can't leave, Truman. You belong here... with me.

    [Truman remains silent, contemplating]

Christof: Talk to me. Say something.

    [incredulous]

Christof: Well, say something, goddamn it! You're on television! You're live to the whole world!

[Truman turns back with a familiar smile]

Truman Burbank: In case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening and good night.

    [false chuckle]

    Truman Burbank: Yeah.

[Truman takes a bow and then steps through the door to Christof's astonishment]

  • Lauren: [during her forbidden date with Truman, about the show's crew] We have so little time. They're gonna be here any minute.

    Truman: Who are?

Lauren: They don't want me talking to you.

    Truman: Then don't talk.

[They share a long, heartfelt kiss]
