"The Truman World":
Xie Zongyu

A, comedy film, but I cried.
Laugh and laugh, then cry. cry. frightened myself. I think I must be looking like a lunatic.
It's definitely not a show. I'm the only one in the study, so there's no need for a show. I know why I cry, I take Truman as myself. Take Truman's struggle as your own. Recently, the personnel of the unit has undergone major changes. Eligible all promotions, but I still resist, as always.
In China, officials are a good thing. As long as officials advance to one level, many benefits will naturally follow. I don't know what I'm resisting? Truman let me know what I was resisting. What I resisted was the bossy and self-righteous "director" behind fate. I am in charge of my life. I don't want others to direct my own destiny.
I value free time more than power, status and money. To this end, I gave up a lot of things that outsiders value, but as a result, I still didn't gain much free time. As Truman said: there seems to be some kind of force that has been manipulating us, making us involuntarily.
I cry because my personal strength is so small that I can't even lift a brick that fate randomly laid down.

B. Did Truman finally succeed?
Is there really a new world hidden in that dark doorway? Can Truman control his own destiny after leaving Christ, the director of "Taoyuan Town"? If that's the case, I can just walk away. My wife is persuading me these two days that if it is really so painful, I might as well lose my job as soon as possible.
But where can I go? The world has been divided up by the "directors". If you can't be a director, you can only be an actor. Acting on what hill, reciting what lines to whom. Only the trick is good, the lines are turned away. You get a salary you can survive on.
There is no happiness in life.
Those with happy faces were dancers with heavy iron shackles on their feet. The price of laughter is the pain in the bones of the feet!

C. Are you aggrieved, Truman?
Male number one. Thousands of people are his supporting roles. From birth to death, there is nothing to worry about. The director will even let him get "Second Spring" in the next episode according to his mood swings, and that charming beauty has come to him. If Truman can feel at ease in this role, maybe his wonderful life will win all the "movie awards" in the world.
But Truman felt aggrieved. Grievance 1: the life of being peeped; Grievance 2: life without knowing the truth.
The supporting actors in Taoyuan Town have seen the life of Trumen being manipulated and peeped, but have they seen their life of being manipulated and peeped? Maybe their spouses were fooling around with others when they were playing with Truman in Taoyuan Town; their boss was deciding to cut their salary for the next month; the god who controlled their fate was preparing to be illogical on their way to and from Taohua Town. turn.
Bystanders are clear. We hold other people's secrets, and our own secrets are held by others.
We see other people's lives clearly, and our own lives are seen clearly by others.
Everyone is a landscape that is referenced in the eyes of others.

D. The world is a big stage.
People, once they are born, can only play roles. You have to be able to cry in order to have milk. You have to be able to laugh to get a sweet kiss on the cheek. You have to bring a few pieces of toffee props with you, and the children will play with you. Your director starts with your parents; then your teacher, your high-achieving classmate, your tough friend; then your leader, your wife or husband, your self-centered co-worker; then your greedy and Indifferent children.
Finally, the chief director of the god of death will give you the final conclusion.
While you are being directed by others, you are also directing others.
When you are hurt by others, you are also hurting others; when you are deceived by others, you are deceiving others.
Looking at it this way, Truman's anger is a bit hypocritical.
Born as a human, Truman can only accept his fate.

E. Voyeurism is the inducement of all human emotions.
Voyeurism is the greatest hobby of human beings. Voyeurism is the origin of human civilization. Where there is voyeurism, there is comparison, imitation, and excellence. If there is voyeurism, there will be a desire to be superior to others and overpower the crowd. Where there is voyeurism there is jealousy, pain, violence, destruction. There is voyeurism, and there is a precious sense of happiness that appears suddenly in the long tragedy of life.
The history of human civilization is actually just a voyeuristic history. Voyeurism determines the elements of human play. Voyeurism determines that the world can only be a big stage.
First there are stages and actors, and then there are various directors. It's not that the director chose Truman, the essence is that the actor Truman needs a director. Peeping makes our desires explode, and our inner giant desire is our real director.

F. The highest state of an actor - pretending not to know.
Pretend to be ignorant of your actor's role.
Pretending to not know that the world is a big stage.
Pretending to be unaware that there are thousands of probing gazes around.
Fast three slow four, hip-hop Latin dance tap dance free dance, you are free to play.
Pretend you don't know you're bad, ugly, humiliating, or a disappointment.
Pretend not to know that you are nice, handsome, wonderful, charming.
Close your eyes and make yourself king.
Pretend to be ignorant of your greed, your cruelty, your plunder, all your harm to the world.
Pretend not to know that your entire life has been fed by the gaze of spectators.
Gently jump off the stage until you lie down in the coffin, don't open your eyes, just pretend there's no one around.
Truman's way out is not to escape from Taoyuan, but to pretend that he doesn't know the truth about himself, which is even more foolish than God who fools people. The truth doesn't really matter to those who live. There is no truth in the world, all truths are the tip of the iceberg.

G. God is a director.
God is also a big liar. It masquerades the world as a raucous comedy while secretly committing tragic murders of our individual people. On the one hand, it has created a Manchu-Han feast with excellent color, fragrance, and taste, but on the other hand, arsenic is secretly mixed in every bowl of delicious food. Let the confused people who "wine and meat go through the intestines" die in ignorance in batches, and let the sober people who "stop the cup and throw the chopsticks" starve for a lifetime before the feast of life.
Taoyuan Town is actually a simulation map of human habitation. Director Christ is God incarnate. The absurd tragicomedy of life is all directed by him.

  • Christof: Talk to me. Say something. Well, say something, goddamn it. You're on television. You're live to the whole world.

Truman Burbank: [Before he goes and exits off-set trough the door] In case I don't see you... good afternoon, good evening, and good night. Yeah!

  • [Truman and Meryl continue to drive away from Seahaven; Meryl spots a "Danger: Fire Hazard" sign]

    Meryl: What about that sign?

Truman Burbank: I'm sure they're exaggerating. We'll be fine.

[Out of nowhere, a massive of fire erupts in the middle of the road]

Meryl: [panicked] What bout that there? Would you believe that?

[Truman and Meryl drive through the fire, and aside from a lot of smoke pouring in, they are fine]

Meryl: Oh. Oh boy. Truman, we're on fire!

    Truman Burbank: It's okay!

    Meryl: We're on fire!

Truman Burbank: It's okay! It's just smoke! Just smoke. You okay?

    Meryl: [terrified] YES!

Truman Burbank: [crazed] WANNA DO IT AGAIN?

    Meryl: [still terrified] NO!
