Before watching "Terminator: Dark Fate" at night, I deliberately took out "Terminator 2" and reviewed it again. Back in 1992, in a university classroom, a classmate shared two videotapes. (Only VHS tapes were available back then), Terminator 1 and 2, respectively. We all sat together for over 4 hours. After watching the first break, I already felt very exciting. When I continued to watch the second part, I was shocked by the imagination and special effects presented by the film. Although it is a product of the last century, some classic pictures do not seem to be outdated at all.
Imagination is incomparable. If this film has never been made in history, I don't think it will be easy to write this script in an environment surrounded by "artificial intelligence" and restore it with the camera lens. Of course, the maturity of computer CG technology has provided great help for the special effects of the picture. Cameron used a lot of models to shoot live. And use two pairs of twins to play the hospital guard and Sarah Connor, who appears at the end of the film. The fact that two people with the same appearance are in the same frame is not the result of computer special effects.
From the solid metal robot T-800 in the first episode, to the liquid metal robot in the second episode. Novels and plays cannot be written without sufficient imagination. In the world we are familiar with, metals give us the impression that they are solid. The only liquid metal is mercury. When we watched the second episode, everyone was wondering if the third episode should be the liquid metal robot T-1000 vs. the gas metal robot T-2000. Imagination keeps the film alive. It is also a cornerstone of science fiction films.
"Terminator" may be a movie with national memories for Chinese audiences. The visual effects of creativity and craftsmanship make it a well-deserved sci-fi classic. Tonight's "Terminator: Dark Fate" content concept should also be based on the last century. And film special effects are mature and not uncommon. It should be destined to be an ordinary movie. But I went to see "old friends", to recall past glories. After all "I won't be back".
