To commemorate the 30th anniversary of World Women's and Children's Rights Day, Quentin Tarantino directed this classic public welfare film reflecting domestic violence. Uma Thurman played a mother who dared to say no to domestic violence and resist the oppression of women. It is worth mentioning that the song "Dad, I'm Back", which was specially composed by Jay Chou, the new R&B king at the time, is still sung by many people to this day.
The fly in the ointment is that the action scenes in the film are too poetic and a little rough. It fails to go further in the aspect of showing that domestic violence destroys women's body and mind. It is a pity to miss an opportunity to deepen the theme.
