Twenty years ago today, "Titanic" had its world premiere at the Tokyo Film Festival, beginning its legendary road to sweeping the world.
The epic shipwreck coupled with the soul-stirring love story, the success of this film is attributed to the most advanced stunts at the time, the rigorous research of the crew that can be called perverted, and the online acting skills of all the members.
Director James Cameron led the entire crew to build a restoration model based on the original drawings of the Titanic, and resurrected the Titanic on the screen based on the few remaining interior photos of the Titanic and photos of its sister ship, the Olympic. Make sure the scenes in the movie are as close as possible to the reality
Cameron took the Russian scientific research ship to the site of the Titanic to shoot the wreck on the spot, and then made a model based on the video, which was used in the opening 20 minutes of the film.
"Titanic" made the names Jack and Ruth a classic. When it comes to this movie, the first scene that many people think of is the romantic pose of the bow flying against the wind
So how did Jack come up with the idea? Because he had already tried it himself when he first got on the boat, when he shouted "I am the king of the world".
The act of Ruth spitting in Carl's face was performed by actor Winslet, and the script designed Ruth to stab Carl with a hairpin.
This sentence was also improvised by Winslet.
Leonardo was stunned for a moment because the line was not in the script, and then he gave the most tender response.
Indeed, the stern is where their story begins and where their yin and yang are separated.
In retrospect, every word they said when they met was a flag.
Jack told Ruth about falling into a hole in the ice when he was a child, and he already knew what it was like to be immersed in cold water.
They are not the only ones who set up flags:
Ruth's fiance Carl told her mother that a lot of steel on the Titanic was produced by their family business, and the latter said that if something goes wrong, you will be responsible for it;
Mr. Ismay shocked the world by getting Captain Smith to power up to get to New York ahead of schedule.
In the end, it was done as desired, but unfortunately it was in the most tragic way.
Jack and Ruth are so different. When boarding the ship, Ruth walked from the top of the gangway to the first-class cabin, and Jack ran from the bottom of the gangway to the third-class cabin.
There is a huge social class difference between them, which is concentrated in this stairwell. The stairwell is where people from all walks of life meet on the ship. When Jack appeared there in a dress, he was temporarily recognized by the upper class;
And when Jack appeared in the same place in his overalls, the attendant who had just seen him the day before did not know him and refused to let him go.
They are free to embrace each other only twice, once when the whole ship is at risk of life and death
Once in Ruth's dream.
But they are so the same.
After Ruth got on the boat, she displayed her collection of paintings, one of which was Picasso's "Girls of Avignon".
The Maiden of Avignon, created in 1907, was the first work considered to be cubist. Carr scoffed at the painting, asserting that Picasso would not make it.
He was right in saying that, a Picasso painting sold for $104 million in 2004.
In contrast, Jack and Ruth have the same taste. When Jack saw Monet's painting in Ruth's room, he immediately liked it.
In 1912, Impressionism had just emerged, and it was a highly controversial art school, which was generally dismissed by the mainstream of society, just like Karl did. Jack and Ruth's heart-to-heart connection is especially precious.
Ruth had to wear an airtight corset in her social class
What she really likes is dancing with Jake with her bare feet and skirts.
Ruth tries to take a puff in comfort, then gets scolded by her mother and strangled by Carl
As soon as the camera turned, Jack was lying under the stars blowing smoke rings leisurely.
Maybe then Jack was looking at the stars and thinking about the girl he saw in the morning, and then they really flew to the stars together.
By the way, this car is shown at the beginning of the film, it is suspended in the air.
When Carl gave Ruth the Heart of the Ocean, she asked her to open up to him
Ruth responded by reaching for the gem
And just when the portrait was finished, she handed Jack the box containing the heart of the ocean. On the one hand, it shows that Ruth can open her heart to Jack, on the other hand, it also shows that Ruth believes in Jack wholeheartedly.
The film also uses a lot of hand close-ups to show the difference and the same between the two. When Jack and Ruth make their first appearance, the camera is on their hands.
The hands of a poor painter and a noble girl are so different, but these two hands are constantly held together and will not be separated until death.
Jack also likes to draw hands
And will handily pass Ruth a small paper treaty
And this famous hand shot
"Give me your hand" is Jack's promise to Ruth over and over again
The phrase "never let go" appeared in Jack's mouth three times, and he saved Ruth each time he said it.
This sentence was also the last promise they made to each other, and Jack didn't let go of Ruth's hand until he died.
Ruth kept this promise, she lived a wonderful life, she went to accomplish what she promised to do with Jack
She has not extinguished her passion for life even when she is over a hundred years old, which is why Jack loves her.
Although she's covered in jewels like Jack's Mrs Jewels
But she didn't let herself sink in the cold memories. As Jack said, Jack saved her from the sea, and the only one who could save her from her fate was herself.
The Titanic was the product of man's ambition to conquer nature at its peak in the early 20th century. After the first industrial revolution and before the sinking of the Titanic, human beings have enjoyed the rapid development of science and technology for more than 100 years, and their desire to conquer nature has reached an unprecedented height. And the sinking of the Titanic ended this dream. A mysterious and unfathomable ocean engulfs the steel monsters of this industrial age.
In the face of the power of nature, everything created by human beings is insignificant. Prosperity will end, everything will wither
But the best part of human nature never loses its luster, and no calamity can wipe it out.
