Not only the proposal is'Indecent'

Well, some one said to me this is a film about money and love, but that is only what it appears to be.

I could only say this is a soso film and using the very Hollywood way to produce. Nothing special and not really inspiring . If I have to give some comment, I feel I got only the conflict between dream and reality.

Diana, a sexy pretty lady, married David at her very young age. (Which I hold for the most important reason for the whole story cuz this couple was too unexperienced to know how hard life could be.) And latter, there comes Cage, a real gentleman with money, and there comes the story. Since I could find so many false reasonings and scenarios that are against humanity and reality, I don't think at least it shows us a happy ending at all. I don't fee like to talk about Cage cuz I never gonna believe that'perfect guy' is really there on earth. Even if there was a Cage, I felt better to get away from him cuz a'perfect guy' is not perfect to handle at all. Human makes mistakes and mistakes make them human: like David and Diana.

Besides all those inproper decisions being made, I think the worst one is to get together again after all those have happened already. They definitely have underestimated the difficulties they will meet in the future, just like underestimated the damage they got together with that 1 million dollars.

However, if I have to learn a lesson from this movie that could be a guidance to my life, I may say: don't marry in your young age.

Indecent Proposal quotes

  • John: [reading through the contract drawn up by Jeremy] Do you want to elaborate on the "Verification" clause?

Jeremy: Verification? That means you pay even if the relationship isn't consummated.

John: You mean if I'm impotent?

Jeremy: It's important for a lawyer to cover contingencies.

John: I can live with that. The "John Garfield Clause"?

Jeremy: That's if you die in the act.

John: I have no problem with that either. Could I have your pen?

    [signs contract]

John: You're pretty good, you know.

    Jeremy: Thank you.

John: You should come and work for me.

    Jeremy: Ooh!

  • Jeremy: For a million bucks *I'd* sleep with him.

    [David glares at him]

    Jeremy: ... Maybe not.
