After watching the whole movie, I couldn't find any excitement at all. The moment Jack and Neytiri kissed, I knew this movie was cheesy, and it wasn't any different from your average Hollywood blockbuster. This is just an alien version of a movie in which African natives fight American soldiers. In order to obtain local resources in Africa, the American soldiers plan to use force. Before using force, they sent a white ex-Marine disguised to infiltrate the black tribe. I was planning to break through from the inside, but I didn't expect this guy to be a 25-year-old. He turned his guns and sympathized with the black people. He was favored by the tribal gods, and successfully transformed into a savior, leading the black people to beat the American soldiers away. Cameron just packaged this uninspired plot into a sci-fi movie with fashionable 3D special effects, but I think he imagined the earth more as an alien.
The scene concept is not original enough. If you have to say how beautiful its scenes are and how special the tree spirits are, then take a look at Miyazaki's "Princess Mononoke". When I watched "Princess Mononoke" at first, it was amazing, but now when I watch "Avatar", I feel like it is there. I thought to myself, are there many friends who gave high marks to "Avatar", haven't seen "Princess Mononoke"? In my opinion, repackaging someone else's decades-old idea in 3D is really nothing special. Moreover, some of the original concepts in Hayao Miyazaki's films are re-spoken from the mouths of the Americans, and they always feel strange, just like the Americans filming "Dragon Ball", but they don't have the charm of the original source. Having said that, the 3D color and effect level really add a lot to the whole film. It can be said that the 3D effect is more sophisticated than the previous Hollywood blockbusters. If there is no such bright spot, the score will be low.
The character building is thin. I still can't remember how Jack is different from other American heroes who save mankind in blockbuster movies? Very templated character. Neytiri's image is even more blurred, and no second female lead has stood out. What especially admires the director is that the Pandora star is a black variant, and the skin color changes from black to blue. Do you think the audience will not recognize it? Useless... Inheriting the rude and low-civilized characteristics of the Niggs, it is the alien version of the African natives. In just two hours or so, the male protagonist has to talk to the female protagonist until they are in love with each other, and also put in a foolish and brave rival in love. These are all things that can't be more routine... Can you take a snack?
The plot advances clichés and holes. The story is too simple and lacks layers. Of course, some people justify it. What kind of plot do you watch in sci-fi movies? Those who say similar views are not real fans. Are the plots of "Alien 2" and "Terminator 2" not ups and downs? fascinating? The effect is bad? "Princess Mononoke" Zhuyu is the first, and "Avatar" is simply incomparable with these two storylines. Audiences may prefer to see how Cameron fiddles with scenes and challenges the limits of 3D, but then again, no matter how good 3D is, it can't hide the mediocrity of the film's story. But the special effects are indeed first-class, there is no doubt about this, there are too many people blowing it, I won't say much here.
There are countless flaws in the settings. This aspect can completely challenge the common sense and even the bottom line of IQ of ordinary people. The Pandora star clearly has gravity, but some mountains are suspended in the air, and what is even more suspended is that Jack can climb up like a monkey... It seems to be a big scene, but it always makes people unable to understand, the waterfall at the beginning of the film It flows down from the mountain, and when we get here, why does the mountain float into the air again... At that time, technology developed to the point where it was possible to mine in aliens, but when the soldiers swept their submachine guns wildly, the shells would still fly everywhere... those An armed straight plane that can go in and out of an alien planet is at a loss when it encounters Jack rushing over on a flying bird? People with a little military common sense know that many of the current air-to-air missiles are left alone after they are launched. If you give Jack any one, he will die. I didn't expect that the soldiers will only sweep with machine guns... Armed planes and Ah Patch looks like a real brother. After decades, this model design is still so popular? Or is the main creator a bit imminent? There is no innovation in many armament and mechanical settings, just a change in the common set... What's more, the fighter jets have realized the automatic bombing function in the early decades. With one button, the bomb is directly thrown from the belly to the target. In the film, the spaceship is forced to open a big hole, and the soldiers manually push the large bundles of bombs and throw them down. Manual, manual, manual! ! So much so that the enemy can take advantage of it... The lack of careful consideration of the details is really annoying. What the hell is this? I'm really speechless, is this insulting the audience's IQ?
Some people think that I am deliberately nitpicking, but the problem is that the marketing model started by this film has been brainwashing people, how carefully this film is crafted, for example, even the main creator has created a language for this film, just now When I heard this, I was also in an uproar. Hollywood is indeed different. Card God is NB, but why do you keep so many bugs? Is this worthy of your "carefully crafted" marketing persona? You commit a lot of low-level and ridiculously childish common sense, are you worthy of licking your fans? Is this a work with countless loopholes that you present to the audience who are expecting you?
So, can we evaluate this film in a down-to-earth and objective manner, as it is the first-class special effects, second-class original, third-class plot, and fourth-class setting?
In general, for this kind of film, as long as you forget what the primary school teacher taught you about the central idea and the rambling, and don’t even pick on its so many mentally handicapped flaws, relax your mind, and it’s still a very entertaining Hollywood. The movie, but you have to say how good it is, you don't have to, the initial selling point of others is not the plot, the purpose is to use 3D to dazzle you.
75 points or so, that's all. Finally, before the film was released, many friends expressed their love for "Avatar" on the Internet, and firmly believed that it would definitely be the best film, because it was produced by someone. All I can say is that if a guy made a movie of "Three Guns", a bunch of people would still come up and lick his feet. I just find it ridiculous that there is such a false atmosphere at present. Watching a movie will not be a major event in life, but if you regard entertainment as a paranoia, do not analyze and follow suit, and even look at people with a halo, then you can only It means you are immature. Of course, the comrades who received money to promote the film full-time are not within the scope of what I am talking about.
I should have given 4 stars for the 75 points, but considering that there are so many fans of this film, I will give a 3 stars here to balance it out. Anyway, it is not enough to give a 3 stars. . (My personal standard, 6-7.5 points for 3 stars, 7.5-9 points for 4 stars, 9 points for more than 5 stars)

postscript:
Looking back many years later, the score of "Avatar" on IMDB has dropped from about 9 points at the earliest, and now it has dropped below 8 points, leaving only 7.8 points, and was expelled from the TOP250, which is different from the 7.5 points I originally gave. Few, it can be predicted that in the future, this part of the score will fall further, and the real classic, its praise will not decrease with the passage of time.
All falsehoods cannot stand the test of time.
