A few words short

This film is from 2000. If I saw this film at that time, I would not be able to watch it for a few minutes. All I can say is that this film is too powerful, the flashbacks in the color parts, the events and the scenes are shown in flashbacks, the black and white are in order. The audience understands the truth of the matter step by step with the film. The ingenious layout is really amazing. I admire again, no, it is Nolan's talent. The scenes in the flashbacks are gradually completed like fragments of the title memory, forming a puzzle of the whole story.

It seems to be fragmented, but the film has always adhered to the strictest linear narrative structure; this dark, gloomy revenge story is full of charm under Nolan's reorganization.

Really brain-burning. It's annoying to see half of it. At the end, I felt that the hero was a bit pitiful. The police are even more pitiful. (After reading the comments, I found part of my understanding was wrong...)

Memento quotes

  • Leonard Shelby: When I looked into his eyes I thought I saw recognition. Now I know. You fake it. If you think you're supposed to recognize somebody you, you just pretend. You bluff it to get a pat on the head from the doctors. You bluff it to seem less like a freak.

  • Teddy: So you lie to yourself to be happy. There's nothing wrong with that. We all do it.
