"10 Minutes of God"

There is no doubt about Nolan's IQ, he basically does not make mistakes in logic. The most valuable thing is that he can add illogical divinity to this perfect logic. The protagonist of the film is a "short-term amnesia" patient who is both an avenger with only 10 minutes of memory and a mental patient who has been directly or indirectly manipulating the world for 10 minutes to become God. He wants to kill what he thinks is his wife's murderer, which is his life purpose throughout the film. This purpose supports his living, and also supports his sense of existence. Whether it's Ted or Jamie, all these characters who create confusion and confusion for the audience and the protagonist cannot really touch the deep-seated motivation of the protagonist. Revenge is superficial, whether it will end or not (even if the final movie seems to point to the end of revenge), the deep motivation of the protagonist's revenge is that he needs to constantly prove to himself that what he is doing is right. This is true for photo tips, tattoo tips, and note tips. The protagonist's memory system eliminates all errors, which is revealed by the end of the film. Although most fans feel that in the end the protagonist used the act of killing Ted to let the revenge end. But this ending, like the final top of Inception, is open-ended. Personally I'm more inclined to believe that the protagonist then discovers new mists. He will forget that he killed Ted, he will investigate that Ted is indeed dead, but he will start to track down who killed Ted. He will continue to fall into the "conspiracy" and cannot extricate himself. He can drive with his eyes closed, and the world starts all over again when he opens his eyes. It's a coveted skill for so many, and it allows you to immerse yourself in the process of solving the repeated birth, dash, and rebirth of hope. People will always repair their memories, leaving what they want to believe and deleting what they don’t believe. Human beings are self-deceiving creatures, and every word that everyone speaks has been covered up. Compared with this, the protagonist in the movie is always in a state of ignorance, which is really blissful.

Memento quotes

  • Leonard Shelby: When I looked into his eyes I thought I saw recognition. Now I know. You fake it. If you think you're supposed to recognize somebody you, you just pretend. You bluff it to get a pat on the head from the doctors. You bluff it to seem less like a freak.

  • Teddy: So you lie to yourself to be happy. There's nothing wrong with that. We all do it.
