I have been hesitant to give three or four stars, and finally gave four stars. Just like time has passed, you can't experience the feeling of watching this film ten years ago, you can only imagine how surprising it was back then. I only saw the introduction that this is one of the director's masterpieces, and it is more thorough and more puzzling than Inception. To be honest, I don't think it's such a complicated story. Complex is the way a director tells a story, or the most complex way to tell a story. Maybe there are more bizarre and complicated methods in the director's mind, but then the director himself may feel a little outrageous.
It's kind of like watching a magic decryption show, guess how I do it? And the magician's job is to disguise the simplest things in all kinds of dazzling props and gags until a miracle happens. Then the magician explained slowly, this way, and then that way... We suddenly realized that this was the case.
