Memories can be deceiving

Similar to looking at pictures and talking, a thousand people can tell a thousand stories, not to mention splicing facts based on memory fragments, with a strong subjective consciousness, the so-called facts have long been distorted.
Just amazed at the strong sense of self-protection of human beings. What Rashomon tells is that everyone, out of the mentality of protecting themselves, tells a story into N stories that are beneficial to themselves. This is essentially the same as selective amnesia, forgetting sin and only willing to remember your innocence. Innocence became the only reason for him to continue to live in this world.

I think ted is not necessarily a bad guy in the film, he just used lenny's amnesia to get rid of some people, and lenny can't remember killing people, or he doesn't want to remember killing people at all. After killing people, burning the instant photos is simply self-deception. But then again, if not, what's the point of his life?
Close your eyes, the world is still the same, everything starts again

Leonard Shelby: Are you crazy? I'm not gonna kill someone for money.

Natalie: What then? Love? What would you kill for? You'd kill for your wife, wouldn't you?

    Leonard Shelby: That's different!

Natalie: Not to me, I wasn't fucking married to her!

Waiter: Oh, you just take the main road...

Leonard Shelby: Trust me, I need to write this down.
