Money Boy, pedophilia, and homosexuality, in the category of youth, have become paradoxical. At first, I was ignorant of the beginning of the cloud and rain, but I will have time to open up in the future, but who knows, this is an episode, or a lifelong death.
Not in memory.
What is not in the memory does not exist. Unfortunately, this sentence is not true for Brian. The lack of memory is also the lack of growth. Brian retrieved many of his missing fragments, those that happened in the night after a baseball game, or on the strange grassland after getting lost on Halloween, but could not be recovered.
He insisted on seeking answers. But the director did not make it like a suspense detective film, although the allused flying saucers and aliens always appear to be very meticulous, mysterious and frightening. This is like childhood. In everyone’s childhood, there are always some that cannot be explored. In the end, the black hole attracts us to approach, but it prevents us from obtaining the truth. After all, the imagination of children is limited. Aliens are a comforting self-justification. In a quiet town, boring play, lack of passion and partners, these factors will always cause something to happen. It's just that everyone has the subconscious mind to work hard to modify the truth, and everything will conform to the survival meaning we set for ourselves.
What is not in the memory does not exist. Before we knew what "materialism" was, we were taught that we must follow "materialism" as the truth. In fact, some of us are increasingly discovering that the indelible power brought about by "idealism" can even explain everything and heal those unwelcome thoughts for us. Brian is such a typical.
A nosebleed is just a concrete manifestation. It represents restlessness, fright, injury, and physical resistance. On many occasions, Brian fainted with nosebleeds. He was anxious and did not understand world affairs. The most important thing is that when we grow up, we are not familiar with the past. The understanding begins to become ambiguous, and this illusion may exist for life. Brian is more universal than Neil, another young man. Rather than uncovering the wound, he is more ecstatic. Humans have the instinct to forget, so that they can live more comfortably.
The program of murdering youth.
You think it's a cruel act to use a knife against youth. Many people call it cruel. I am not. When you think about it, you can imagine that when the murderers dismembered the corpses, they also enjoyed the supreme pleasure. What we think is right and wrong is the most subjective judgment from our own standpoint.
Neil is the only one of that kind who stands amongst a group of developing boys in a fuzzy face. In all kinds of similar small groups, there will always be such a boy, idle, clever, and charming. He seemed nonchalant, almost everyone would be attracted by his unruly charm, as Neil’s friend Eric said, Neil is Saturn, a planet, and they are just the moons surrounding him. Saturn can have many moons. So he always enjoys attention for granted, so he has the capital and squanders his inexhaustible beauty and youth, this is the gift of the Creator.
Charismatic boys never follow the rules. Neal's growth trajectory is quite clear. He was destined to experience extraordinary adventures from the night when his mother and lover had sex with him. This is a wonderful thing. In the process of sexual maturity, Neil did not abide by the rules. There is such an element in his nature, so it is not necessary to blame the blond coach with a mustache for seducing him. . At least, at the very first moment, he has already seen something called desire in the coach. That must be a reflection of his inner desire.
Looking at the weakness of moral values from a different perspective, we might be able to forgive Neil's debauchery. After all, morality is established to conform to the mainstream interests of the world. It is constantly being broken and invented. It is not the only criterion for measuring right and wrong. Charming youth, prosperous and declining, Neil betrayed his body, passing by those different men, in the various needs, what we see is a kind of psychological complement. Murdering youth is also Neil's way of complementing himself.
Staggered and opposite.
One encounter creates two different kinds of people.
Brian chose to heal with forgetting, and Neal chose to numb himself with aggravation. They once had a shared secret memory. This is a clue that is not clearly explained at the beginning of the film, but is emphasized secretly. Under the lens of the Japanese director Arach, even about some sinful pedophilia, rape and seduction, it is not so critical and so good. He sprinkled the story with a hazy icing, just like the colorful gummy candy that rolled off the face of an innocent child at the beginning, with a little dreamy embellishment, a little bit of mystery, but it is definitely not a tear in the nose and tears.
Although it is a subject of homosexuality, it does not seem to have the element of deliberate display. Another noteworthy detail is that the two boys both had the lack of a father role when they were growing up. It should be about a person's childhood and the indelible influence it has. Superficial, or deeper, remembered, or forgotten, hurt, and entertained. This matter is so difficult and mysterious to say that we are not good at it, we can only stop at it. However, the director is full of sincerity and abandons prejudice, which is really rare.
I thought it was another gay movie about first love and pure love, but it would be wrong. The two teenagers met from the baseball team in 1981 and then were separated. It was ten years since Brian found Neal in his dream again in 1991. For ten years, they lived very close to each other, but they had different experiences and they had never met each other. Then, they restored everything to its true colors in the place where the incident happened that year. Brian wept in grief, and Neil hugged him on his lap blankly and told him the unbearable past. The life that was determined as early as the summer of 1981 will face a new beginning in 1991. This is the end of the movie. This end is a question that has been opened but never answered.
The wonderful and cold-tuned rock music, combined with the dark theme, the slow but not boring narrative, is very harmonious with the aura of young actors. "Skin Temptation" itself is richer than the honor it has won.
The director is actually cruel. But from another perspective, isn't he also quite benevolent.
