It's not that I arbitrarily involved "Angel Loves the Beauty" with this film, it's more like the meaning of a film company. From the tragic version of "Angel Loves Beauty" that was claimed during the film's promotional period, to the impressively printed "FROM THE DERECTOR OF AMELIE" on the film poster, we simply cannot ignore the connection between the two films. Of course, they also used the same heroine. "Angels love beauty", if I have to use two words to describe it, I can only use "magical". The plot of the film is a bit exaggerated and even absurd. Its beauty lies in the perfect interpretation of the details. Those very cute little romances scattered in daily life make the whole drama lively. It is said that the interesting little details are the result of the director Jean Pierre's careful observation over the years, and they all come from real life. This is why we feel so cordial when watching a movie. Remember that jealous man with his whole face twisted into a ball? The narrator said that his only hobby is to squeeze the air bubbles in the plastic bag. I laughed because it happened to be one of my favorites. Similar expressions have repeatedly appeared in the film. It can be said that it is this kind of romantic idealization of seemingly ordinary life that finally made "Angels Love Beauty" an unprecedented success. The problem is that Aimei is too successful. Believe it or not, preconceived emotions always exist. Just like watching "Goodbye Lenin", when those melodious pipe organs echoed over Berlin, I still couldn't remove my imagination from Paris. The reality is that Yang Tilson's musical style was formed long before Emily. So even if I feel something, I can't assert that "Long Engagement" is just a simple continuation of "Angels Love Beauty". However, it is well known that before Aimee, Pierre directed "Alien 4" in Hollywood-this is not a successful science fiction film. Hollywood's mature industrial system limited Pierre's talents and whimsy. Fortunately, he quickly realized this and returned to France to create "Angels Love Beauty." This is the culmination of Pierre's personal career, and to some extent it has become his shackle. Ai Meili was so successful that certain models had to be retained, even though they were still very impressive on their own. Okay, I overtook it. "If he dies, I will be the first to perceive it." The story takes place near the end of World War I. Five soldiers who attempted to escape the battlefield by self-harm were banished to the no-man's land on the front line of the French-German war, where they were sentenced for death. Manet, the handsome boy with two deep dimples when he laughed, was among them. Yes, he is the actor of the film, if there is a actor. At the same time, our heroine Mathilde is waiting for news from a distant lover in her hometown. This is a stubborn woman, as stubborn as her wooden prosthesis. So when she learned of the death of her lover, she still refused to give up. She clung to the last straw, she said because no one found Manet's body. On the day Manet traveled, Mathilde said to himself that if I passed the next fork in the road before them, Manet would come back alive. So she ran hard in that green field, completely forgetting the inefficiency of the prosthesis. She succeeded. The moment she stood at the intersection panting, the horn sounded happily like a skylark. Like Ai Meili, Mathilde also firmly believes in his own ideas, and sometimes even brings his own imagination into reality. Because of such a sign, Mathilde firmly believed that Manet would not die so easily. She said that if Manet died, she would be the first to perceive it. From then on, she embarked on a journey to find evidence of her fiance's death... "A certain year, a certain month, a certain person..." "On January 6, 1917, 5 soldiers were sentenced to death." This is the film's No. One sentence. Next, the narrator took the trouble to introduce each person's number, hometown, previous occupation, dress and even some more subtle things. This way, I can’t make me not think of the introduction of the combination of the sperm of Mr. XX and the egg of Mrs. XX in the opening paragraph of "Angels Love the Beauty". Obviously, the latter is better than the former. For a girl like Ai Meili who seems ordinary but is full of fantastic ideas, this description is just right. And when the cruel war starts, who will care all the time about trivial things that seem to be irrelevant? Life here is like a must, or symbol. The credits are of course another matter. Mathilde opened the door, and golden sunlight poured down on her. She walked forward step by step, the shade of the tree cast a shadow on her face, and her expression was sometimes excited and sometimes sad. Then she saw Manet, Manet who had lost his memory, and Manet who was concentrating on the little train at the small wooden table. Mathilde sits in a chair, hands folded on his knees, looking at him, in the soft air, in the warm sunshine in the garden. Mathilde looked at him like this. Look at him... look at him... Even as bystanders, we can probably feel happiness. "Does it hurt for you to walk?" Manet's acquaintance with Mathilde originated from such a sentence. Later, Little Manet carried Mathilde on the lighthouse with his immature shoulders. Mathilde exclaimed excitedly. Perhaps it was such innocent happiness that made Mathilde fall in love with this boy who had been very determined since he was a child. In the cave, Mathilde blew out the match. The love of childhood sweethearts started from this. In fact, at the beginning, it was just such a seemingly unintentional greeting. The dry mind is reborn. Life is the same, the small pieces are sincere. So at the end of the film, the amnesia Manet suddenly said, "Doesn't it hurt when you walk," Mathilde cried. It turns out that there are still miracles in life. The person who loves himself deeply, even if he loses all his memories, can still touch the depths of his heart. Manet asked, why are you crying. I answered on her behalf under the screen, and I cried because I finally discovered that life can still move people. In fact, you don't have to be the angel heroine Audrey Dodoo's performance in the film did not disappoint me at all, her firm eyes pointed directly at people's hearts. Especially in the last paragraph, before meeting Manet, the expression on her face was delicate and real. Suddenly realized that Audrey can not only be an angel flying over the city, but also can bear the weight of longing. Her most recent role was "Ensemble, c' A cleaner in "est tout", the corners of his eyes and brows are introverted and retreated, as if reborn. There is a section in the film that describes Mathilde’s self-entertaining life, which is strikingly similar to Ai Meili. And this paragraph is basically irrelevant to the subject. It's like those lots of narrations. Like "Elephant", like that silent long shot. The director is calm, but clearly controls your thoughts. I like "Cold Mountain". I like its seriousness in the face of war. The same is love, Ada and Iman have only a few sources, but Ada's waiting is more authentic and credible than Mathilde, because it is not supported by romance but by faith. Pierre is not without progress. His use of color, his grasp of grand shots and even his narrative ability are more mature than those of Ai Meili. I just can’t help thinking, if it’s another way, if so many coincidences and romances are subverted, as well as the unhearted optimism of the French, but let people see the weight beyond love, would it be better? Does the true fruit of cultivation behind the cruel reality feel more precious? After all, angels still don’t understand sadness after all, and ordinary people who weep may be more beautiful than angels.
