If one sacrifices himself for his own ideals, that may be noble, but what if the sacrifice is someone else?
What happens when there is a huge deception in an intimate relationship? Who killed Sarah? Isn't that her husband? Or her two husbands. It was always difficult for me to identify with his love for his wife and daughter, because it was himself who was causing his wife's growing pain, and he never did anything to ease her pain. If his doppelganger hadn't died, and faced with a father who loved his family one day but not, it's hard to say whether his daughter would take the wife's path. People like this, who use the people around them as their ideal sacrifices, are really far from people.
