The beast and the divinity can be described as human nature

Begins with a repeated comparison of Jewish and German life

German nightclub Jewish registration

Schindler's cynicism, understanding of wine, grasp of women

Prince's performance

Charismatic personality, everyone is overwhelmed, not only women, but also men.

I think this film is good because the director and screenwriter are not limited to depicting Schindler's divinity, they have found a balance between his divinity and animal nature, using his animal nature to highlight the divinity

Schindler is not a saint, he is just a mortal

Hermann Hesse once said: "I would love to be a patriot, but first of all 'people'. If I can't have both, then I will always choose 'people'."

Is he great in some sense? I feel great, but this greatness is only mortal greatness. Simply portraying him as a saint would obliterate his reality.

So as long as it is a human being, he will have two extreme qualities, one is the great divine nature, and the other is the dirty animal nature. To define whether a person is a good person or a bad person, it depends on which one accounts for the majority.

From the very beginning of this film, Schindler's animal nature is well described.

He lingers in nightclubs, his grasp of human accidents, and his attraction to men, women and children, all show his charisma. There is charm. With every gesture, women can fall in love with him, and men who have been snatched by him are happy for him. When someone asks the waiter about him, the waiter will say in a tone you don't even know him: "That's Oskar Schindler!"

At his birthday parties, he would put his hands on the cheeks of every lady, and they looked up and closed their eyes as if they were waiting for the gift of God. His desire for women and the pursuit of quality give me a sense of playboy instant vision

But when he really encounters something, no matter it is big or small, he can show a kind of demeanor, that kind of demeanor with the whole world in mind, it has nothing to do with race or belief, people are people.

When someone who has nothing to do with him asks him for help, although he will be very angry and say that he is not a relief center, he will still lend a helping hand. When a truckload of people has no water to drink and is hungry and thirsty , he would point the water gun at the carriage in the name of a joke, and flush the water in to quench their thirst. In the end, when all the workers were to be sent to Auschwitz to be exterminated, he broke down and bought the lives of more than 1,000 Jews, but cried and said I could have got more. What a great move, full of divinity one side.

Power is when we have every justification to kill, and we don't.

The entire film uses only black and white tones, which is a kind of commemoration and mourning for this cruel event that happened in the past. In the play, there is a little girl in red who shuttled through the crowd, hid in the closet, and was finally abandoned in the corpse. She represented the purest hope of life for the Jews, but she also died. The appearance of Schindler, It reawakened the hope in the hearts of more than a thousand Jews. God said there should be light, so he came.
