Eight people save one person: the calculation is not an economic account, but a moral account

"Saving Private Ryan" has a central issue: Is it worth it for eight people to save one person? This is not only the heart knot of the team headed by Captain Miller, but also the doubts of many viewers.
From an economic point of view, in order to save one person, eight people died and six survived, which is really a huge waste of human resources.
On a moral level, it's worth it. Because the Allied forces counterattack, the purpose is to eradicate Hitler and fascism, liberate all the people ravaged by war, so that every ordinary people including the Jewish nation, the French nation and even the Germanic nation can breathe freely under the blue sky. Eight people saving one person reflects the high attention and respect for individual life and value, which is highly consistent with the goals and concepts of the Allied counter-offensive.
In real life, many things are controversial because of the imbalance between the economic account and the moral account. For example, in October 2004, Hao Jinsong, a master of law from China University of Political Science and Law, took the Beijing Railway Bureau to court after his request for an invoice in a dining car was rejected. In the eyes of many people, Hao Jinsong is "stupid and naive", the invoice is only a matter of tens of dollars, and the lawsuit with the Railway Bureau is expensive, and he has forged a relationship with the state agency, which is not good for his future career. It's not worth it. But Hao Jinsong's behavior should be encouraged and supported in terms of moral and legal principles. Many things (especially when it comes to government agencies) are commonplace, but they are actually extremely unreasonable. It is precisely because no one is going to "comprehend the truth", so commonplace things have become a matter of course. Too many people complain that the world is too dark and the society is unfair, but too few people dare to take action to change. Only a few people have the ability to turn their hands into clouds and turn their hands into rain. Ordinary people with limited capabilities and resources may only be able to do some small things, but it is precisely from these small things that big changes start to happen.
As long as we are less concerned with calculating economic accounts in a narrow personal world, and more about calculating moral and legal accounts from a macro perspective.
