neither good nor bad

Such violent and brutal motives! After watching the movie, that's all I thought. How do they set the scene of the war? Many movies can be done better these days. The way they showed violence in a war between gladiators? No, not as violent as some action movies these days. Certain lines in the movie also don't make sense ("The Fourth Day of Antioch"). What impressed me most was that there were a lot of wooden penises in the Colosseum (laughs). In any case, despite the unconvincing ending, the film is meticulously done in many ways. Maybe it gets high marks because this is the childhood of many Westerners.

When you see it as the best Oscar film, you are borrowing the Roman epic to reflect American values. The nigger said softly on behalf of the American people: "Now we are free, we will see you again, but the time has not come, the time has not come", awesome . But if it is viewed as a commercial film, it will only be criticized for too short a climax.

Gladiator quotes

  • Lucilla: I want to help you.

Maximus: Yes, you can help me... Forget you ever knew me, and never come back here again.

  • Maximus: I knew a man once who said, "Death smiles at us all. All a man can do is smile back."

Commodus: I wonder, did your friend smile at his own death?

Maximus: You must know. He was your father.

Commodus: You loved my father, I know. But so did I. That makes us brothers, doesn't it? Smile for me now, brother.
