Silence before, noise after.

For me, this film impresses me with the "sudden" resistance of Maximus in the face of being executed (compare the death of Nerd in Game of Thrones). In the face of bad luck, secretly accumulate strength and never yield (The silence before you strike and the noise afterwards, it rises. It rises up, like... like a storm.).

I have feelings for this because I think about myself: many times when I don't go well, I choose to loose myself in a very negative way. So, a "gladiator " would toughen up, instead of merely waiting for the turn of the tide. He would go for it. Period.

(See the 171-point version) Although I don’t like this kind of calendar poems or something, I have to agree with the scene where everyone sacrifices for the male protagonist and the male protagonist finally recalls his wife and children. This is a movie. Seriously filmed not bad film.

Ah, ah, ah, I can’t resist this type of film. . The hero went through hardships to win the crowd, defeated the tyrant, reverted to the republic and then went home. . I simulated almost all the impossible things in the world. . . T — T

Gladiator quotes

  • Gracchus: Fear and wonder, a powerful combination.

Falco: You really think people are going to be seduced by that?

Gracchus: I think he knows what Rome is. Rome is the mob. Conjure magic for them and they'll be distracted. Take away their freedom and still they'll roar. The beating heart of Rome is not the marble of the senate, it's the sand of the coliseum. He'll bring them death - and they will love him for it.

  • Gracchus: But the Senate IS the people, sire. Chosen from AMONG the people. To speak FOR the people.

Commodus: I doubt if any of the people eat so well as you, Gracchus. Or have such splendid mistresses, Gaius.
