Western films have rarely been seen on the big screen since the beginning of the new century, and this time director Quentin Tarantino directed the shooting of such a Western film with the American Civil War as the background. Aroused everyone's interest. "Django Unchained", as Quentin's tribute to spaghetti westerns, has always been respected by movie fans, and the movie won the best original screenplay at this year's Oscars. This time, on the premise of ensuring the existence of all the classic elements of western films, Quentin grafted his maverick, rude and comedic humor style into the film, and successfully completed a re-creation of western films.

Although "Django Unchained" suffered a rough experience of being suspended and re-released in the Mainland, and at the same time, it was also bad enough to be partially deleted, but it did not lose much of the charm of this film. From the very beginning of the movie, we can appreciate the strong taste of western movies, the open wilderness, accompanied by the unrestrained singing, brings us into the western world in an instant. Starting from the doctor rescuing Django, we can see more western elements as the plot progresses. The cowboy riding a horse, the town in the desert, the dashing bounty hunter in the tavern, etc., none of the visual symbols show the director's precise grasp of the classic westerns. The main reason for the gradual decline of westerns in recent years is that the movies have mixed many new action styles in order to cater to the tastes of the current audience, which makes the original pure westerns nondescript. Quentin said from the beginning that "Django Unchained" was a tribute to the Western, and certainly wouldn't fall into the creative jail of the former. We can see that there is only one type of action scenes in the whole film, and that is gunfights. And in the middle of the movie, the MV-style shooting method was used to show the paragraph of Django learning the gun, which perfectly reproduced all kinds of shooting methods. Every gunfight in the movie is unique, and Quentin always likes to use slow motion to shoot close-ups of characters being shot, and uses blood-splattered surreal to render scenes of death. But such an aesthetic of violence is not an emphasis on violence, but a whitewashing of violence that makes gore appear less objectionable.

The themes of the film include the indictment of the history of slavery and the satire of racial discrimination, but under such a serious theme, Quentin still continues his usual low-key and luxurious style, and humorous dialogues can be seen everywhere in the film. These funny lines always bring out the dark and turbulent tension between the characters. In addition, Quentin's typical violent aesthetic shots replace the bloody scenes of the shootout, which not only allows the audience to enjoy sufficient visual enjoyment, but also allows the audience to have ups and downs emotional changes in a confrontation-filled pattern. In most westerns, it is often a white cowboy who seeks justice, but this time the male protagonist is a rough-looking black man. It must be said that this is also a major breakthrough in the anti-tradition.

In the past, Quentin Tarantino liked to use chapter narratives or non-linear narratives to increase the observability of the plot. But this time the movie doesn't have too many live skills, but follows the traditional narrative mode, according to the occurrence, development and climax of the story to complete the delay of the plot. But that didn't make the story any less enjoyable, because Quentin was smart enough to handle all of the Civil War lore in a cosy Western tone. This mashup is so perfect that "Django Unchained" has become another classic western movie.

Every scene is handled in a mediocre way, showing off is more than everything, I don’t like this director

Quentin's tolerance of being very high is not necessarily a good thing.
