Rewatching and rereading "The Analects of Confucius" in 2009 - the difference between rewatching DVDs

Re-reading the Analects every year will yield different translations and different understandings.

Since the invention of DVD behind the scenes, and the director's soundtrack, watching a movie over and over again is no longer just for paranoid moviegoers.

The first time I saw 7 was in 1999 on Universal Pictures. Thinking about it now, watching that 10-minute introduction to the film completely ruined the viewing experience of this film.

So watching 7 every time is a compensatory experience. DVD soundtrack includes director, actors, screenwriter/story/symbol, photography/art/image, soundtrack/mixing. Get new insights every time. It's like having a new experience every time you read the Analects. Because I am different at different times every time, the new ideas that I can accept are also different.

Well, this year, after watching the film 14 years after its production, I still feel that the technical indicators of photography, sound mixing, and soundtrack in the film are estimated to take 20 years for China's film and television industry to achieve. Not to mention acting, directing, and storytelling.

But the only feeling I wanted to record this time was the story of the film.

My admiration for the film has also taken a new turn as my understanding of the story has grown over the past year.

The protagonist summerset is not a very complete character. It can be said that his awesome perfection prevents him from becoming a very good character. His single dimension makes him unable to support the story of this film as the protagonist.

What is the protagonist?
The protagonist of a detective film is when the physical climax of the film is reached (the moment when the mystery is revealed and all questions are revealed), and the character’s heart reaches a philosophical/moral climax (the distinction between right and wrong is answered, and the right path is chosen), this The choice must be completely foreshadowed and logical, and the protagonist must use actions to prove that the choice is worthwhile, even if there is no happy ending.

Well, if the protagonist of this film is summerset, he maintains his calm and calm character at critical moments, and he does what he has been doing, which is rationality. He represents pure moral power, and the mills that match him are the representative of emotional rage. He is unrepentant in his instincts to act.

So to put it simply, the two characters who were deeply portrayed in the film did not have any behavioral changes.

Therefore, when summerset said that he would return to the police station to continue his work, there was no support in the story. To me, it was illogical. But because the film is outstanding in other aspects, I barely feel it is okay.

So the director dominates all the merits of this film, and the play andrew kevin walker really made two characters with established personalities and found the answer to a detective novel. The only idea is the criminal's final surrender, and a series of murders, including the last two plots. But from the story, mature screenwriters know that the story stays at a simple level, which is "what is the truth", not more about life and meaning. That's why, twenty years later, no one may praise him as a classic anymore.

In contrast, the motives of the perpetrator, or the experience of the detective, can have a completely different meaning if it reflects a moral trade-off between right and wrong in human nature.

In contrast, the stories of memento Talented Mr. Ripley go beyond that.

Now that I think about it, David Fincher is still young. If Somerset doesn't say anything at the end, that's Fallen Roar.

A classic of detectives, but I don’t know if it’s because I was spoiled too badly before, or because I saw Sherlock, a criminal psycho detective, basically interprets The Walking Dead and his eyes are spoiled, and his taste is getting more and more tricky, look. He was directly sleepy, but in order to gather the seven deadly sins to summon the dragon, he could barely endure it...
